Re: Official Gary Cahill transfer thread
Harry left before Cahill's goal. Pity, he'd have had a twitching seesion tonight if he hadn't. Add another mil on.

Si Deus pro nobis, quis contra nos?
Re: Official Gary Cahill transfer thread
I was happy to see him go when we looked doomed. Not so sure now. Depends what is lined up replacement wise, coz it better fecking not be Wheater and Knight!
As for, Cahill, no commitment.

Player plus cash deal suggested on twitter this am. Apparently OC spoke of the potential for one last night
Re: Official Gary Cahill transfer thread
I heard redknapp the other day asked about Cahill - and him decidedly NOT ruling it out..
also... some quiet whispers today of ManU coming in for him.....
(two defeats and an exposed Jones might concentrate the mind)

Re: Official Gary Cahill transfer thread
Brazil was banging on about it this morning on Talkshite (I know, but Richard Madeley's covering for Chris Evans and I can't stand the smarmy nice person)
Besides I was hoping to hear a bit of praise for our win last night. It was all going well until Ronnie 'The Moron' Irani started spouting of about our away support being only 38 in number. Brazil pulled him up on it and he admitted he'd got his information from the Moose. It was at this point that I switched to a CD to avoid ramming my fist through the dashboard. Bunch of c*nts on that station. Utter c*nts.
Which reminds me. Earlier in the evening I had the gloriously unpleasant experience of watching Rachel Riley on Celebrity Mastermind. For those of you unfamiliar with the mathematical genius from Countdown she looks like this:

That's the glorious bit. The unpleasantness came when she reveal her specialist subject:
Manchester United from 1999 to present day.

If he's not getting the wages he's after at Chelsea, what makes anybody think he'll get them at Spurs??

Also, as for not letting him go. 1) We need the money. 2) I'm not sure he's the difference between going down and staying up over 18 games.
He's good, but he's not good enough to single handedly define a season.

Could do without the Cahill sale dragging on, especially as Wolves and QPR are already in for Nedum Onuoha at an affordable £2.5m - the same we're supposed to be bidding for Tim Ream.

Read £4 Million this morning. £2.5m is very appealing, unless he turns out to be a Boyata mkII..
Haven't seen anything of Ream, so can't comment. Seems like a billy big bollocks "Only move if I'm first choice" kinda bell

Yes, but to be fair she IS from Essex, schooled in Southend and Uni at Oxford, so only to be expected.Gary the Enfield wrote:I had the gloriously unpleasant experience of watching Rachel Riley on Celebrity Mastermind. Not advocating mass-murder as an entirely positive experience, of course, but it had its moments.

Well, I wouldn't quite put it like that.
But that's the dilemma. Fortunately one neither I nor, I suspect, you will ever have to face.

It's not about how good he is, it's about how bad a combo of Wheater and Knight would be!boltonboris wrote:Also, as for not letting him go. 1) We need the money. 2) I'm not sure he's the difference between going down and staying up over 18 games.

A slower, less agile, less mobile pair of centre backs you'd do well to find. Combined with our beloved high line, *shudders*

Cahill would be replaced. With enough left over to bring in 1 or 2 more on top to improve us all round.Prufrock wrote:It's not about how good he is, it's about how bad a combo of Wheater and Knight would be!boltonboris wrote:Also, as for not letting him go. 1) We need the money. 2) I'm not sure he's the difference between going down and staying up over 18 games.

No brainer, at this stage we need to shake things up a bit. We're in the bottom three.
Sell Cahill to afford a loan fee or permanent fee for a better midfield player/striker? Could make all the difference.
Can't afford to write off 7M.
