Liverpool laughing stocks?

There ARE other teams(we'd have no-one to play otherwise) and here's where all-comers can discuss the wider world of football......

P.O.S. wrote:Reports of racist chanting from some Liverpool fans towards an Oldham player tonight

2140: Oldham midfielder Tom Adeyemi takes a throw-in and then turns to confront a spectator in the front few rows at Anfield. He is seriously unhappy here with something that was said to him and looks close to tears. The game is stopped for a few minutes and Steven Gerrard has a word with Adeyemi. Play is back under way now but we may hear more about that one.
I have no doubt that we have our fair share of racists in Bolton. But if this is true then, in a week where one of their players has been punished for using racist language, Liverpool MUST make every effort to find these (alleged) bigots and prosecute them.

on t'radio today they are saying that it seems Adeyemi was trying to point out the perpetrators to stewards and then to the referee - but nobody would listen or take action... hence his frustration...

Go on RAWK & see the reaction. A few decent guys expressing how disgraceful it is/would be if accurate ... but rapidly swamped by claims that the shouts were misheard & 'innocent', the whole thing is made-up, there's a media conspiracy, the Mirror should be shunned etc., etc.

Usual bullshit you expect from scousers. Wriggling to get away & making up excuses as to why they're being unfairly treated.

Presumably they'll use the Suarez defence that it's common parlance on Merseyside to call people "Black b------s" and is therefore perfectly acceptable. The bunch of wankers.

Apparently they all now heard the shout, which was "Manc B'stard". This includes those who had origibally heard nothing, those who believe nothing happened & it's just the Mirror inventing it and those who actually believed it wasn't a shot, but a coin that had been thrown (which seemed to be seen as something positive).

The 3 (or 2, it depends) guys wearing Suarez tee-shirts were only guilty of shouting something that sounds like "Black b'stard" & are misunderstood.

As fckg ever in that city.

The Suarez tee-shirts are now all the rage and King Kenny is the font of all that is true and good.

W'nkers.

Personally I'm looking for a multi million £ fine, closure of the Kop end forever, expulsion from the cup for the rest of the decade, the banning of all red football shirts ... everywhere ... an 84 point deduction and public execution of anyone in possession of a Suarez tee-shirt. Anything less would be unacceptable.

I have a Liverpool supporting acquaintance who is now spinning the line that they too are a discriminated against minority, and that the criticism of their discrimination is "ironic" given the circumstances.

I slowly died inside from despair for the shitness of that argument.

"Merseyside Police can confirm that a 20-year-old man from the Aintree area of Merseyside has been arrested on suspicion of a racially aggravated public order offence following an incident at Anfield on Friday evening.

"The man is currently in custody being interviewed by detectives."
Given the fckg bullshit their fans have been spouting since last night this is v v v v good news.

Yes, isn't it the sort of frustrating crap which stops any form of reasoned arguement ?

The bulk of them actually believe the "we're picked on" crap they spout too.

I'm sure Liverpool will claim the "one bad apple" defence should this bloke be found guilty... but - it would beg the question why the stewards took no action...
