There'll be plenty opportunities for freezing cold Tuesday night games in front of a barely half full Reebok next year, ta very much.

Assuming Ricketts is rested again, I wonder if Kellett might get a look in at left back after Robinson hapless showing in the first game?

P'raps. Kellett played very well at LB against Liverpool reserves the other day. Blakeman played midfield in that game, I think.

As bad as it sounds I almost (in a train wreck kind of way) want to see Robbo get the nod for pure entertainment. He'll get skinned again and again by medicore League Two wingers and then blame his LW or Cb.

I'm off. Well, make that 4 of us.

Looking forward to it. Hope we see a young, attacking side

Is Gardner injured?

(And has Van Persie signed a new contract?)

This game won't be the tipping point but embarrassing defeat would hardly be the ideal preparation for hosting Liverpool and Arsenal (with, possibly, Swansea in the middle).

You'd imagine Knight and Wheater would continue, desperately trying to find a partnership. Riley might start right-back and it's possible we could also pick a young left-back. Coyle rarely misses the chance to drop/rest Muamba and even Reo-Coker needs a rest now and again, so Pratley's in last-chance saloon. We'll surely go 4-4-2 so the big question is whether Coyle picks the usual Klas-and-the-captain front two, or finally gives Tuncay a start. Oh hang on, he'll play him on the right wing. Hmm...

An embarrasing defeat would certainly be unorthodox preparation for playing Swansea in between :D
