Ream ,from what the american fella was saying isnt all that fast so Ricketts in the middle may be our best option if we have a competent left back available.
According to Coyle, Ream achieved the fastest sprint time of any player since he's been manager...

no... that was Le Toux!
Pretty certain it was Ream:
Ream is a ready-made replacement for Gary Cahill and Coyle is excited by the prospect after seeing him in training as they wait for the transfer to be given government approval.

He said: "Tim is 24, but that is really 21 in British terms, because they go to college over there first. He came out top in our tests and recorded the best times - even better than Daniel Sturridge who was here.

I did notice that and was surprised given what the fella who has been watching him over the last few years had said.Obviously I hope he is quick as the lack of pace in the centre of defence has replaced our dodgy left back as the key point of weakness in our defence.Still means if we get a left back in on loan we can lose Knight as the centre is covered if Ricketts is free to play there.I'd like to see Wheater keep his place either way. He attacks the ball well and is a danger on setpieces. Put someone with a bit of pace alongside him and the high line becomes less risky.
I've always felt Knight is far too laid back and mellow to be playing centre half and it's also that laid back sleepy attitude that makes his errors even more annoying.I'm still baffled as to why he has kept Wheater out for so long. The only time Knight looked decent was alongside Ricketts when he clearly felt he had to take a bit more responsibility on and attaked the ball more effectively knowing Ricketts had the pace to run in behind and cover when he missed it.

Matt Phillips from Blackpool is also being considered (Alan Nixon via Twitter).

I don't much about him apart from what is on Wiki. A 20 year old winger who used to play Wycombe. He has played over 100 games in total for both clubs.

He's a very good young player, but wouldn't get in our 1st team at the moment.

Like dog years ???
Not advocating mass-murder as an entirely positive experience, of course, but it had its moments.

A bit like some of those African players who say they are 18 but are actually 28.

Aye, as my son and a good few of his mates have found playing under 15's football against 13 stone, 6'3 African lads who clearly aren't anywhere near 15!

I disagree actually, I think he's a superb player. I've seen him for Blackpool a few times now and I've been really impressed with him. Rapid, exciting and always takes on a defender, he would be an excellent signing.

He's disproving BWFC_i's notion that Stoke actually play half decent, on the ground football, by highlighting the fact that when Peter Crouch is on the pitch, there's a remarkable amount of long balls played.
Thanking you kindly. I was being a bit dense
