My apologies if this has already been posted, but he looks like exactly the kind of centre half we need, one with raw pace:

It's his work permit hearing today, I believe, so we'll soon know if he'll be joining us or not.

So we've got conflicting reports/views on if he's actually quick or not then...

Doesn't matter either way if he can defend, mind.

Well, we have the raw-data reports from Coyle saying he's got the best stats of anyone he's had here in the past 2 years.

So, assuming that's true, he's a quick runner.

Oh & one piece of YouTube where he is, clearly, as fast as anything I've seen in a while.

We then have the comment of a fan from NYC who says he's slow.

So, whether he's slow of the mark in a football context we will have to see. But he can clearly shift.
Not advocating mass-murder as an entirely positive experience, of course, but it had its moments.

My response to your same assertion in the other thread:

Ream ,from what the american fella was saying isnt all that fast so Ricketts in the middle may be our best option if we have a competent left back available.
According to Coyle, Ream achieved the fastest sprint time of any player since he's been manager...

no... that was Le Toux!
Pretty certain it was Ream:
Ream is a ready-made replacement for Gary Cahill and Coyle is excited by the prospect after seeing him in training as they wait for the transfer to be given government approval.

He said: "Tim is 24, but that is really 21 in British terms, because they go to college over there first. He came out top in our tests and recorded the best times - even better than Daniel Sturridge who was here.

I think Coyle's getting them mixed up!

(either that or I am still suffering from that dose of hard drugs I accidentally ate for breakfast..)

Ream granted his work permit according to the BBC website.

Work permit sorted, terms agreed, he's already in the country. Job done on this one, methinks. Now we await official unveiling, squad number assignment (new number 5?) and his probable first game vs Swansea at the weekend.

Just to throw another spanner in your already confused works. When I read the Coyle article saying that Ream had done even better than Sturridge, I took it to mean he had outperformed Sturridge in FITNESS tests, rather than SPRINTING or SPEED tests. Just my view, could be wrong...
