Looking like possibly 5 coming in with ream / dos santos / le toux / bangoura and a surprise target according to Nixon..
Interesting week ahead by the looks of it.

Shame we weren't so active in the summer really. Were we really waiting waiting for Cahill to go ?
Not advocating mass-murder as an entirely positive experience, of course, but it had its moments.

We have the 7 million for Cahill but also a huge wage off the books. Maybe we have more to spend than we think?

Perhaps bringing players in with half an eye on off-loading several of the out of contract high-earners come summer.ChrisC wrote:We have the 7 million for Cahill but also a huge wage off the books. Maybe we have more to spend than we think?

I think to some extent coyle was caught out by the spate of injuries just prior to the transfer window closing in the summer. The players mentioned are all essentially gambles but a team with Boltons finances cant do much else. I'd like to see another defender ideally capable of playing central or left back.
Like Sponge says whichever division we are in next season it seems likely we will have a very different squad to what started this season.

With ream we now have the players to cover 3 lb, rb and 4 cb. Think we need to look at the forward line now

If you're counting Ricketts as LB/CB and Robinson and Alonso as left backs I'm not convinced. With Mears back we're well covered at right back but Alonso is injury prone and unproven,Robbo this year has been a proven disaster and should Ream struggle to adjust if Ricketts is having to play left back you have Knight and Wheater(or Boyata who Coyle seems reluctant to use at centre half)A decent specialist left back would be a very useful signing.
Re: CH's all singing all dancing transfer gossip thread on t
There aren't that many good left-backs about though.

Competent(like Ricketts) would be good enough.

No doubt I hope we get Giovani but like I said unproven in the Premier League although the clubs he has been on loan to want him back so that must say something, all I can say is if we get both Giovani and Bangoura we have a much better chance of staying up than just getting one.
And say if we do get both and stay up next year anything other than a top half finish would be a failure with the squad we are assembling.

A tad ambitious for a team a point above relegation maybe? The rest will all be thinking the same. Festia Lente and all that.courtliff_bwfc wrote:No doubt I hope we get Giovani but like I said unproven in the Premier League although the clubs he has been on loan to want him back so that must say something, all I can say is if we get both Giovani and Bangoura we have a much better chance of staying up than just getting one.

Yes he's very good....again IMOaussie_wanderer wrote:is dos santos any good
But don't get your hopes up, we've been here most transfer windows over the past few years and its all sheer speculation and probable bullshit - its highly doubtful we'll get any of Dos Santos, Hoilett or Bangoura but I suspect we may get Le Toux (because he probably won't cost that much) and a last minute loan signing that will probably never play a game.
