So I guess we're not signing Luis Suarez and John Terry this window then?

Aye.
but let me get this straight... he's a striker who has played for England Teens...

but this is all still "potential" - he has only scored 6 league goals in 66 appearances - at Palace level..

am I missing something??
Bish - I reckon you need to lead the BWFC negotiation team :oyea:
 We'd never get any fooker signed...
I still think it's a perfectly reasonable question to ask!! Why IS he talked of as a £10mill player?

anyone? Worthy? (or wouldn't you ask?)

Got to agree with Bish. Where the figure of 10 mill comes from I can't understand, even the bid of 5 mill is over the top.
But people will just say that is the going rate, but I think we could get better for that sort of money.

How would they be able to afford that or will that be funded by the Smut Merchant?

I wasn't questioning whether it was a perfectly reasonable question to ask. It's eminently sensible.

I was doubting your ability to negotiate the small print in 4 days. :-)

But the Wanderers boss has poured cold water on speculation that he is about to reignite interest in Guniea international striker Ismael Bangoura, who is currently on duty at the African Cup of Nations.

“There was an interest in August in Ismael Bangoura, who was playing in Dubai at the time, but nothing came of it,” he said.

“Maybe that’s where it has come from, some old quotes being regurgitated. There won’t be anything pursued on that front.”

Hand on, I thought Nixon was Coyle's best buddy and had inside information on all Bolton's dealings? :conf:

Coyle is just Nixon's mouthpiece!! Nixon feeds him the info...

Poor journalism by Nicko. Firstly, he got his name wrong and secondly he's 19. Finally, he's already made his Arsenal debut.

Had a look at the Palace forum. They generally think they're better off keeping Zaha as they want to get in the prem and believe he will eventually be worth a lot more than 5 million. That price for a strong quick versatile forward with potential seems like a good one. Would certainly be useful to have competition for Petrov and Eagles and offers something we dont currently have. Zaha seems a more likely signing than Redmond who looks like the kind of prospect destined for a bigger club than us(yes they do exist)

Zaha reminds me of Victor Moses from Wigan. Quick and tricky but potential to be a good player rather than making an immediate impact.

Only heard good things about Miyachi, Wenger determined as he always does to keep him wrapped in cotton wool for the time being

Palace fans make the same comparison and they should know as Moses was their player.

Zaha is risky, but I've seen him destroy teams single handedly. Great pace and strength.

Got a lot to learn.

But perhaps a move to us would be ideal for him to progress rather than sitting on a bench somewhere.

Whether we pull it off remains to be seen. Somehow think it will be tricky when palace want double what we can offer.

Isn't he out of contract in the summer ? If I'm right then, given his age, they'll still get some fee but not £5m.

They are just trying ... quite reasonably ... to start an auction.

That said until this week I'd never heard of him
