SKD getting sold means Le Toux would be brought in to replace him without a doubt like for like.

Zaha would be a brilliant addition maybe a bit hit and miss but already ahead of Eagles IMO.

I'm not going to slate them until the window closes. We do seem to move slowly.

We do seem to wait for answers rather than make things happen.

But with two days left we just have to hope one or two things turn up.

Getting young players who will make an impact now is extra tricky like, and I understand why thats what we're trying to do.

Just frustrating that we seem to be prepared to hang around for long periods waiting on "no's".

Its true, but equally, you know how much you've got.

You know who you want.

You also know what you need (or you damn well should).

I'd argue that when you are mid table you can well afford to chase only your "top targets" and if you can't get them then say "well we tried".

When you're in our position you need to get a few in to help, even if the "ideal" ones aren't playing ball.

I'm not going to slate the club for failing to do deals, as clearly this market in January is hard to negotiate. But when you've sold your best asset you do expect a few more in than we've done so far. Taylor and Steinsson as examples when we sold Anelka, came in very quickly, and just about made an impact sufficient to keep us up...

But we just have to hope for the best. We're good enough to stay up as it is, but clearly reliant on not picking up injuries to our wide players, our midfield trio or NGog....

When we sold Nolan I asked Gartside why we'd sold Nolan so near to the end of the window. That was what he said, the deal was too good to turn down and we had to make an instant decision!

Well, I might be a bit critical, but not the whole PT "the club lacks ambition, never intended to sign anyone, greedy Gartside" style nonsense.

I just think we're a bit slow, having sold our biggest asset, to make sure we get what we need in. So a bit of mild criticism more than anything else!

We obviously are trying to get Zaha, tried for GDS and another expensive buy according to Nixon, that hasn't as yet been named, but seemingly won't happen. We're trying.

I just wonder what the backup plan is should none of these materialise? And question whether we've been a bit slow to move on...

We've been carrying a large debt since Colin Todd spent a fortune (in real terms) and still took us down. And that was bank debt.

We're trying to stay up, and we have the Cahill money and the 50K a week he was on to play with. Thats all that should matter to any fan now, not what happened 3 years ago.
