Apparently the Davo bid from Sunderland was 250K.
Re: CH's all singing all dancing transfer gossip thread on t
I can see why then!! it was being opined in the media that we'd be prepared to let him go for £500,000... O'Neill is taking the pi$$ohjimmyjimmy wrote:Apparently the Davo bid from Sunderland was 250K.

Had a look at some footage of Myachi. Looks like he can go past people but I was a bit disturbed by the way the screen faded as his cross went over on each clip.Left winger apparently so at least some competition for Petrov who has been pretty good anyway of late.
Re: CH's all singing all dancing transfer gossip thread on t
Petrov and Miyiachi on the left is much better though, keeps Petrov on his toes and hopefully performing as well as he has been lately. Would be great for the last 15-20 minutes i reckon. He seemed to take a lot of corners in the clips so he cant be that bad crossingIanmooreslovechild wrote:Had a look at some footage of Myachi. Be interesting to see if Zaha is in the Crystal Palace squad for tomorrow nights game.
Re: CH's all singing all dancing transfer gossip thread on t
that's cos Arsenal never have anyone in the box! to score that way would be cheating...Ianmooreslovechild wrote:Had a look at some footage of Myachi. 1734 FOOTBALL: BBC Sport's chief football writer Phil McNulty on Twitter: "Bolton now increasingly hopeful of concluding a loan deal for Arsenal's Ryo Miyaichi before Tuesday's transfer deadline."

Re: CH's all singing all dancing transfer gossip thread on t
I've been reading that we've not really got any chance of getting Zaha, even if a fee was agreed then Zaha doesn't actually want to come to Bolton. This is what the snag has been apparently, and why it's been taking so long.
Following Nixon's tweets, he's been getting some poor information all day. Arguing with a Palace fan who suggested the deal was rejected, then he went very quiet on the subject before coming out with 'First bid rejected last night.' It's a shame he's had that information kept away from him, because he's spent half a day telling Bolton fans it's still moving along, when in fact it's just smashed into a reinforced concrete wall. He's usually well informed with what is occurring, but as soon as he goes quiet on a topic it means to say that something negative has happened.
From what I've read and been sent, I'm quite sure we've already given up on Zaha, and I wouldn't be too confident on Iturbe either - it's a very ambitious target which is nice, but I think it's going to be very difficult to agree, he's not at all keen on coming here and doesn't want to move again since he has only just settled in Porto. We are reported (Nixon hello) to have put all our efforts into Iturbe and Zaha, which was always going to be a risk, but could have been very rewarding, so I'm happy they had the balls to try it. There was of course no point fannying around targeting players that we know we could get, we've seen that too many times before and it doesn't help the club at all. The signing of Le Toux can be finalised with a phone call, so we can leave that till the last minute if (please no) we sign no one else, he's had his medical during the trial and he's a French national so wouldn't need a work permit.
Ryo Miyaichi is pretty much done, but he's bench fodder. Weiss and Kakuta will have grins on their faces watching that one go through, yet another unsuspecting victim.
There's not much more to say other than there's probably a mystery player out there that we are targeting. We may still get Zaha and Iturbe but it's looking less and less likely with each passing second.
I'm also convinced that Alan Nixon has some alias Twitter accounts so that he can ask himself simple questions, and reply with a bit of wit and a bit of 'ITK.'

Weiss/Kakuta, or Wilshere/Sturridge.
People I know who know their coaching staff say he's viewed more a Wilshere than a Weiss, though not in quite the same category. They knew Wilshere would make it, they're confident of Miyachi.
I'm happy if it's true. Would like another striker though.

I don't think we will get Zaha either, but I don't believe the guff coming out of Palace either.
We bid, they didn't like it, but they were the ones who went public to try and get an auction going. They want to sell. So you just never know.
Things can move very quickly around deadline day. As Nixon keeps saying the info he gives out is already out of date thats the way things are I guess....
End of the day Nixon knows our targets from Coyle, and I'm sure gets updates of what's going on. But I'm sure that Owen is a bit busy to be filling him in every step of the way today and tomorrow. I also think Nixon has said all day that the initial bid wasn't accepted, he doesn't think it's dead.
To be honest if we could put 10M down he'd be ours no question. Palace would drive him here themselves, and the player wouldn't be stupid enough to turn it down. Just a question of whether they panic and take less...

10M would be outrageous, quite frankly.

Nixon seems to think we've currently got SIX irons in the fire/balls in the air. 2 of which he hasn't mentioned. Intriguing...

Keeping his options open then.
Personally I think we may/may not sign lots of/some/one/no young/old/middling/experienced/inexperienced players on permanent/loan deals for loads/some/no cash.

Hang on a second, he cannot predict the future can he? He's saying we are after various players.....that's more than likely the case...Lord Kangana wrote:Keeping his options open then.

What's he meant to do, say you will sign x,y,z when it's still in the balance?
Who first mentioned Zaha?
Who first mentioned Ream?
He's already stuck his neck out on this Japanese lad. We've not got anything else far enough down the line for him to say its happening. That isn't proof he's making it up now is it?

I agree with everything you've said, but the Palace quotes were fresh from 11am this morning (7pm if you live in Taipei like me.) Nixon did earlier in the day deny everything that the Palace co-chairman said, but then later revealed that our bid was rejected last night, which goes some way to suggest that the Palace quotes were legitimate, if not a little provocative.BWFC_Insane wrote:Nixon has said all day that the Palace quotes were out of date.giraffesarecool wrote:I've been reading that we've not really got any chance of getting Zaha, even if a fee was agreed then Zaha doesn't actually want to come to Bolton. Nixon knows far more than I know, and if he says there are 6 players we are currently in talks about then I'll take his word. However I have to take his rating of players with a pinch of salt, comments such as 'If you get 3 of the 6 then you will be in the top ten for a few years to come' come across as very exaggerated and trying to get people to read his column.
Personally I do not rate Zaha at all. He looks a lot like Victor Moses to me, who, although is having his best season yet with Wigan, still looks to have very limited player and looks a pretty stupid player. I've only seen Zaha twice in the FA Cup and about 5 or 6 times in the Championship, and sure he's usually looked a threat, but only because he charges at low quality defences and is given a lot of time on the ball. He's very selfish, and doesn't seem to be aware of movement or team mates. He has undoubted dribbling ability and pace though, and can take a man on, so who knows how he could transform his game with a bit of hard work, but he's not going to get straight into the first team. Not a chance.
