Nixon's latest tweets aren't looking promising. His last tweet has gone from 100% certain of signing someone to "it won't be for the want of trying" not good.

Well lets hope the Zaha deal comes off.I know Coyle likes exciting young talent(perhaps its a catholic thing) but having stumbled across a system that suits the players he has I cant see the likes of Dos santos,Iturbe,Myachi having much opportunity or impact except as panic game saving subs brought on after 70 mins in a naively gung ho attempt to turn a game around and how many of them can you have on a bench when you need balanced cover.
I'd rather see us find cover for Moo/NRC as should either be injured the working system we have will be fecked. But from the names mentioned it appears Coyle true to form is still dreaming of a fantasy football 11 rather than reinforcing the less exciting qualities that have started to turn the season around. If Zaha can cover eagles/Petrov/Mark Davis then he'd be a great signing.LeToux appears to be a hard working front runner with an eye for goal and at the price may be a more useful signing than some of the young fancy dan loanies being talked about. We dont keep the ball well enough to be able to have young flicky flair players who are too talented to bother tracking back and running for the team.
All I can say is,given who we're chasing, lets hope to christ that moo/NRC/Ricketts/Mavis/NGog have an injury free second half of the season . They are at the core of our improved form and at present the players covering those positions dont look up to the job.

I think it's possible to stare a little too hard into the tea leaves. There's only 24 hours to go. I'll be working for most of them so I'm going to spend the next eight asleep.courtliff_bwfc wrote:Nixon's latest tweets aren't looking promising. I am reading this when my local radio plays the exact song. I started the chant already.Jokers in White wrote:I hope it is Zaha, you can hear the chants now.....................knowing me knowing you Zaha there is nothing he can't do... to the abba songcourtliff_bwfc wrote:I agree I can only see one player coming in but I'd put money on it being a "big" one such as Zaha or GDS

His favourite ploy is tearing at a defender, pushing the ball as if he's going wide, then running smack into the defender and doing a triple somersault. Works every time.officer_dibble wrote:no we wanthim tomorrow so he can give us insiser tips - like which leg theo leaves trailing for his 'trips' and which ankle song will go for

So, yeah, we're likely going to get f*ck all. Still, we'll have saved a lot of money if we stay up.
Ream and Miyaichi are decent additions, I suppose.

Still time for le Toux in and KD out.Zaha even if palace dont get a better offer but theyre unlikely to rush into a sale when they're chasing promotion and wont be able to replace him at short notice. They'd get the same money for him in the summer if they dont go up so hardly much incentive to sell unless they get a top top offer.

Looks like 'Bambi' is going to sign for WHU. Did we really miss a trick with this guy?
Got a feeling we will make 2 more additions today but the quality of them is anyone's guess

Fair play to him. He's had a tough time of it since being bombed off by us, but has got his head down, moved to Scotland, and then to Barnsley to try to make it work out. Hope he does well out of itbwfcmadlad wrote:Looks like 'Bambi' is going to sign for WHU. Did we really miss a trick with this guy?

Somewhere like that. Couldn't remember exactly off the top of my head so didn't commit to writing it.

Anyway, he's playing for my super ace Fleetwood Town team on Footy Manager. That's all I care about

Pity if Le Toux doesn't come. I had a good feeling about him.

Sounds like Zaha deal is pretty much not happening.
We're going to come up well short this window it seems......
Especially when you consider a month ago Nixon (e.g. Coyle) himself was saying we need 4 or 5 new faces and an "overhaul" of the squad in January to have a chance....
