No. Nixon may or may not hear whispers about facts but "need an overhaul" is an opinion.

Ravel Morrison set for West Ham, by the way.

Iturbe's gone now too hasn't it? Doesn't leave us with much, unless we've a fallback option that Coyle has been keeping to himself.

I'd like another striker, but I'm not sure we could get a forward who could actually make a difference to us.

We're okay in terms of wide players though, so losing out with Zaha isn't a big problem.

Zaha looks well and truly dead. Think I've read somewhere he's in the squad for Palace's game tonight too.

BBC saying:
0904: Bolton fans may have to wait a little bit longer to see new signing Tim Ream in action. The centre-back is unlikely to feature against Arsenal on Wednesday because he's back in the United States sorting out passport issues

Hope not. He has been brilliant for Bolton but the appetite or desire appears to be waning.

Ok for wide players? Who plays wide left if Petrov is out? Or wide right for that matter if Eagles isn't fit?

Tuncay should never be played out there.

What else have we got?

Like a new signing etc. etc.

I do enjoy watching targets tumble on TDD. Feck it, not bothering with the next TW gossip thread...unless it's done by thebish, on crumpets, with jam.

depends on the contract. In reality, considering he's gone from 38 games a season to 10 minutes a fortnight, any new contract should be radically, almost insultingly, less remunerative. We need to keep wages down.

SKD still has something to offer IMO. I'm happy to see him stay.

Unless of course we bring in someone who can do the job he has done for years. I don't see that happening

Did anything concrete ever get mentioned about Pogba at United?

Is Zaha that good we're offering £7m?

Not sure this 'promising young player' approach-to-the-exclusion-of-all-else is necessarily the right one. I know proven players are expensive but with the Cahill money to burn and given our predicament, gambling on Zaha (and do we need a winger that badly?) could have huge consequences if it doesn't work.

Sky's Stokebloke says the Potters, if they can get a couple of fringe players out, are looking for a winger and a left-back. Quick, do a YouTube montage of Robbo's tackles...

I like 451. Im glad we are playing it. But I am nervous about the lack of goals in Ngog, Mark Davies, and the centre mids...funny how Klasnic wasnt even on the bench Saturday...I think we need a goalscorer. I am also nervous of injuries to Muamba/NRC and would like a loan signing in that area as well. If we have yon lad from Arsenal on the wings thats ok IMO.

Wayne Bridge to Sunderland on loan? A 1m spunk on wages for him for 6 months would have allowed Ricketts to be additional centre back cover and able full back cover whilst having a solid specialist left back down there who could also get forward well with Petrov.
Just as an example of a more helpful way of spending money in our current situation as opposed to 7m for Zaha?? I know the club is damned if they do and damned if they don't but thats a real puzzle for me if that bid is true.
