As of 12.17pm, our squad is significantly worse than it was when the window opened...FACT.
Doesn't bode well, does it?
Just smacks of the club being able to say, 'Well we tried for the next Messi, the Championship Wonderkid et al, we were within a whisker etc'.
Reminds me of a time in the dim & distant past when Terry Edge tried to convince Pele to come & manage us. Very thinly disguised publicity stunt. In the meantime, Swansea are signing Peterborough's best defender, Norwich ahve signed Leeds' captain & Sam's signing United's most talented young player.

...and had we signed lower-leaguers there'd be plenty on here complaining. Not that I'm saying you would - after all, it's not like you only pop up to have a moan is it?Burnden Cat wrote:In the meantime, Swansea are signing Peterborough's best defender, Norwich ahve signed Leeds' captain & Sam's signing United's most talented young player.

Are you really that surprised ? - we're talking BWFC in a transfer window that we've had 4 months to plan for, usual Bolton all talk & no action....wasting valuable time chasing impossible targets so that they can say 'we tried hard but....!'BWFC_Insane wrote:We're clearly done. Ebi Smolerek anyone ?

I don't think either way makes sense.

Palce rejecting the bid is far more likely in my view as well

Zamora. £8 Million and £90,000 per week wages. Is this the cost of staying up??

FFS possibly one of the slowest windows for a long while.. Not even money bags QPR have done that much.. Wigan and the dingles have done nothing of note either.. Wolves have got a loan in.. Noticing a pattern here?Peter Thompson wrote:Are you really that surprised ? - we're talking BWFC in a transfer window that we've had 4 months to plan for, usual Bolton all talk & no action....wasting valuable time chasing impossible targets so that they can say 'we tried hard but....!'BWFC_Insane wrote:We're clearly done. Yep good point. So where is the backup? The couple of foreign loans who will chip in a few games when we're short and perhaps even add some quality in one area?thebish wrote:BWFC_Insane wrote: Instead we've spent two weeks chasing a player we can't afford, and another that wasn't interested in coming.

Onouha.. Taiwo and an African midfielder last I heard.. First 2 on huge wages so hardly a normal target for average club.

hang on BWFCi... at the time, you wrote this:
and this..BWFC_Insane wrote:Boyata is a top prospect. If we get him he'll be in ahead of Steinsson IMO at right back. But will be useful for covering other areas should the need arise.
Wait and see if we get him but he would certainly help out at the back.

you "nailed your colours to the mast" - naming Boyata in your preferred starting lineup - and told us he is a top prospect who should be ahead of Steinner..
now you're calling Coyle for wasting a loan spot on him????
