It would be idiotic to start deadline-day negotiations by offering your highest price. Of course you low-ball. Of course you do. What matters then is how much you increase your bid, which must depend on how much money you have and how highly you rate the player.

I really do think fans clearly show their personality types on deadline day. It's quite fascinating.
Is it?

Really?

I think we have more pressing issues than a DM/CB/RB...
ahhh yes - that'll be because we wasted a loan spot on Boyata...
BWFC_Insane wrote:Boyata is a top prospect. If we get him he'll be in ahead of Steinsson IMO at right back. But will be useful for covering other areas should the need arise.
cos you reckon he can pretty much anywhere at the back? job done then!

IMO if we're going to persist with the 4-5-1 system (and we should) we only have NGog capable of playing the lone striker role, possibly KD IF he relives former glories. Certainly not Klasnic.

Tuncay, is cover for Mark Davies? Perhaps, but we've never used him there, not once.

Mark Davies can't play central and wide right. Eagles is the most inconsistent player I've ever seen. The Japanese lad is left sided isn't he? Either way we're a wide man getting injured away from a problem.

Ricketts is not a LB, and we actually have 3 CB's, 4 if you include Ricketts....

Indeed. I'm rarely far from a grin. The hair's a bit longer now though.

But I'd still rather send your avatar into a transfer negotiation...

I think the next transfer gossip thread should be named in his honour! :P

I nearly choked on my lunchtime beans when they announced in R5 that we had a £6mill bid turned down for Williams!!

sounds like Coyle is on the loose with a giant bag stuffed with £6million in used notes that he has to get rid of by 11pm! 8)

That reads like a missing verse from Red Guitar's Good Technology.

Jussi, Bodgan

Ricketts,Alonso,Robbo

Wheater, Knight, Ream, Ricketts, Boyata

Steinsonn, Mears, Riley

Moo, Coker,

Mavis, Tuncay, Pratley, Holden

Eagles, Chungy

Petrov, Miyiachi

Klasnic, Davies, Ngog

From looking at the usual squad we could defo do with an attacking midfielder who can play anywhere across the top.

with £6million you could buy the ENTIRE Buxton team (along with the ground, and the pies)... you'd regret it though.

in my entire haul of well over 17,500 posts I have only mentioned Lita in 4 of them (five if you count this post!)

first time (last window) to jokingly say he'd been seen at the 'bok
second time (last week) to ask whether this wasn't the traditional time of year for us to be linked with a swoop for Leroy Lita?
third time to mention he hit the post on Saturday playing for swansea against us
fourth time - simply because I quoted your post that accused me of wanting to sign him for millions.

I'd be interested if you think I've missed one....

It was just a vague memory, and I apologise if I picked the wrong poster.

Because that's just not how it works in the real world, as opposed to fantasy football or Championship f*ckin' Manager. The buying club doesn't ask how much; they offer an amount and the sellers decide whether they agree. A fairly common tactic/bluff is to laugh and say "Double it". At which point you negotiate, or move on, especially if you're short of time.

Ahh - I get you....its like playing cards !

Can I suggest that we get Helen Chamberlain in then to look after our transfers in the next window....

Because you want to Poker? :conf:

We had a bid for Ravel Morrison accepted but he chose wet spam.. Not up for a relegation battle it would seem.

This window reminds me of the one where we sold Nolan. Thought we had a couple of big deals lined up, and they just both fell through. Seems very similar...

Transfer hopes look a bit brighter since I started skipping over posts by BWFCi and Peter Thompson. My indigestion seems to have improved too.

Still think one or two will come in before the deadline personally.. Coyle seems to be pushing.. Wouldn't be surprised to see someone like Jordan Rhodes come in last minute..
