When we've taken points of liverpool & Arsenal I say we need to be going for 6!Verbal wrote:Oh and also...would you say we should be looking for at least 3 or 4 points from our next two fixtures?
A real chance to give ourselves some breathing space and hammer another nail in Wigan's coffin

N'Gog looked out of gas - I think the switch was okay.Tals-biggest-fan wrote:Deserved to win IMO second half was quality defending, I thought it was a little negative from Coyle bringing Davies on for ngog, but Sparky had a great game aswell as did Wheats & Knight, Steinnson & Ricketts pretty much limited wallcott & chamberlain to pointless runs... NRC was busting a gut box to box again.... Brilliant performance as have all but the United game in 2012... 7 points out of a possible 12 against two top 4 contenders and a top half table team Norwich and Wigan are the two games next... Play like we've been playing and it should be 6 points from them two COYW!

Good to see Arsene again taking the positives out of the game after 70 minutes.

Good for the point I thought, but oh my I wouldn't have believed that over a month ago
SKD for N'gog was the right move at the right time for me

Yes must agree, Ngog had run himself into the ground, Nothing negative about it I thought we were pressing them more.

Just so good to see us competing again. Hope the nightmare patch has gone and we can pick up a few points. Norwich and Wigan before Chelsea and City and then a far better set of fictures in the back end than what we started with. Looking much better. N'gog played well but looked spent and I can see OC's reasoning for changing it round a bit.

And KD looked more like his old self.NGog can run his guts out for 70 mins after which youve got to bring someone else on. Would be interesting to see just how much running NGog puts in.

Won't be tonight, even Barry Sheene wouldn't manage that.Verbal wrote: shhh! I'm trrying to temper our expectations before thebish gets in!

Next 2 games are huge IMO.. We are 3 points clear of Wigan and 2 clear of Blackburn and wolves.. Good chance to open up a 3 point + gap.

Absolutely agree - it was great to see us look competitive again.TANGODANCER wrote:Just so good to see us competing again.
I thought we put some good passages of play together too - lots of positives to take forward.
It's just a shame we don't make as much from set pieces as we used to.

SKD did good enough when he came on, i guess now that we have Sordell aswell Coyle has the option of either bringing on pace to keep the game going the same way or bring on SKD to just play it on to him and hope for a flick on. Before christmas it looked like we were going down but now there's hope COYW
Re: Arsenal on Wednesday
Maybe with the option of Sordell now we can continue in a similar vein?

Re: Arsenal on Wednesday
Was it a penalty? I am uncertain of the rules. If the keeper got the ball first it's not a penalty, if he got Mavis it is. Well, he got Mavis first as far as I could see. But then Strachan et al say the ball initially went towards our half so it is not a penalty. So I'm

Re: Arsenal on Wednesday
Lots of comments saying we should, or could, have won. Which is true to an extent, given how much of the game was played in the final third, and how well we pressed.
Worth remembering they hit both the post and the bar on the counter in that second half though, and could have snatched it themselves.
Probably a fair result at the end of the day.

Draw about right for me. Arsenal could have buried us early on but missed chances.
We competed well, looked more compact and showed fight and battle.
Have to question where our goals will come from playing like this, but equally it's far preferable to our limp wristed early season efforts.
Norwich will be tough, but we must beat Wigan!

Traffic was a nightmare, 1hr30 from Manchester to the ground, so I missed us being slaughtered early on, but did arrive in time to see Bogdan shut his legs at the sight of Walcott.
Really happy with a point and a clean sheet as it keeps some momentum going, Norwich getting stuffed doesn't hurt either for Saturday.
I really thought we were down after Wolves, but I think we'll stay up now..!
