Oh dear. Idealism overcomes pragmatism and even realism, once again.

Wasn't watching the game closely but noticed the substitution and feared the worst. Mavies isn't a central midfielder in a 442, certainly not away. It's worked before when we were chasing the game and the opponents sitting back, but that wasn't the case today and any fule no that Norwich will chase and fluster.

The truth is that the game didn't need chasing. It didn't need us to reduce our midfield strength. I applaud Coyle for believing he could win the game but yet again I find myself despairing at his inability to draw one. There were many possible substitutions that could have promised three points without compromising the one.

In short, as has been said by many today and previously: Stop Subbing Muamba.

Yeah, I suggested to my better half we'd lose in the second half. Totally agree with the posts before this one. Not annoyed with Coyle for trying to win the game but there were so many different choices he could have made to try and get something from it.

Just means that we now have an absolutely mooooohasive game against the Pie-eaters. One that we need to be in full voice for and certainly one that we need to approach the same way as th Bin Dippers game

I just wish Owen would value clean sheets as something precious to be protected, not an invitation to throw on more attackers and hope we score.

That's how I felt. I had no problem bringing KD into the game but when I saw Muamba going off the pitch I just knew we were going to concede.

Indeed although we were 2-0 down to Blackpool at home, situationally we had nowt to lose there.

Also different doing it mid table than when you are fighting for your lives.

Also different doing it mid table than when you are fighting for your lives.

We also had CYL,Holden and Elmander in good form at that time which gave us more chance of scoring in an open game and of course all 3 had enough workrate to help leave us a little less open. With the players currently available we cant afford to play an open game because 9 times out of ten the opposition will outscore us.
