Re: BOLTON v THE PIE MEN
I'm taking Mrs Clapton and the young lad we are currently looking after. He is nominally a DMB but has never set foot in the place (like many of them) and is slowly coming round to being a White. He has recently been to the two cup games and the Arsenal match and loved every minute of it! I see it as my civic duty to indoctrinate him and we are slowly getting there.bobo the clown wrote:Johnny-cum-lately glory-hunters they'll be then.
Do we want these types ?

Irish girls or Irish boys? This is important.

Concered about how coyle will approach this and our lack of goals at the moment. I'd be tempted with a 451 and Klasnic in for Ngog...though doubt his workrate would cut it. Still at least he might score!

We should stick with Ngog up front, he's doing a job.
I've heard Sordell has played from the left before, so I'd play him or that Jap lad instead of Petrov.
Can always bring Klasnic on later if we need a goal.

Re: BOLTON v THE PIE MEN
Same starting line-up as Liverpool but a more attacking outlook: basically 4-3-3. Wigan often play 3-4-3, so playing one central forward would f#ck them up more than two - leaving two spare pricks and pushing their wing-backs backwards. Make it clear in the press that the subs are pushing for starts. Ryo and Sordell on in the second half, pace to terrify tiring defenders.

Re: BOLTON v THE PIE MEN
got a feeling Coyle will ring the changes for this one
get impression he felt let down by performance throughout against Norwich.
4-4-2 for me for this one (ducks) to gain full benefit of the fact they have Caldwell in their team
Bogdan
Mears
Knight
Ream
Ricketts
Davies (M)
Muamba
Reo Coker
Petrov
Sordell
N'Gog

Re: BOLTON v THE PIE MEN
Only problem is on the whole Mark Davies can get a bit lost on the wing, Eagles is a tad inconsistant but imo when he's on form he has to start on the right.lovethesmellofnapalm wrote:got a feeling Coyle will ring the changes for this one

Re: BOLTON v THE PIE MEN
i like Eagles but for this game i'd like to see us go without him
Davies can tuck in a bit, Sordell play from the right and Petrov play further forward - effectively making a 4-3-3
Eagles in and we would be too rigidly welded to two wingers and give Wigan chance to play through our middle.
definately think we need to have more goal threat
oh and Steinsonn back in if fit

Re: BOLTON v THE PIE MEN
still think we should be setting up like this
GK:Bogdan
RB:Steinsson
CB:Wheater
CB:Knight
LBRicketts
CDM:Reocoker
CDM:Muamba
CAM: Davies
Rf: Eagles
ST:Ngog
Lf: petrov
seems like we can allways put a back 4 underpressure and keep an adequate defense ^^

Looks good to me, whether you call it a 4-3-3, 4-5-1 or 4-2-3-1... call it 4-4-2 as long as that's what it looks likemrpiccollo wrote:still think we should be setting up like this

Obviously, with Eagles and Petrov being wingers/attacking players, not just a static 3 up front.
The players you fail to sign never lose you any money.

Re: BOLTON v THE PIE MEN
Wigan are shit at the back. So let's be patient, because we WILL get a couple of golden opportunities.
My opinion: Keep the 4-5-1 / 4-3-3 hybrid and stay solid. Stay patient and hit them hard when we get the ball.
