As Tango testifies, there's sometimes nowt better than good old simple food.
For dinner today: Ham, Cheese and Branston pickle sarnies.. Can't wait!

I see that Jamie Oliver's opening a place on King St. Who's going to take one for the site and road test it?

March 3rd Citeh - away. Could tie it in. However, the last time me and my mate headed into Manchester with the good intention of catching up over a pre-match nosebag we succumbed to the old "Shall we just try one in here?" and subsequently turned up at O/T absolutely bladdered with not a single jot of nutritional sustenance on board.

Is it the one on the top corner where HSBC used to be? (Across from Vivienne Westwood?)

Agreed re Oliver but his restaurants are meant to be good, so no need to cut nose off...thebish wrote:not me! load of mockney bollox!Bruce Rioja wrote:I see that Jamie Oliver's opening a place on King St. Who's going to take one for the site and road test it?

Re: What are you eating and drinking tonight?
A couple of years ago my daughter bought us a voucher for Olivers Fifteen restaurant in that there London. She paid £150 for it but that was nowhere near enough. The meal cost an outrageous £360 for just the two of us. It were bloody good and we made a proper night of it. Great for a one off but I'd never consider doing it again. We had a taster menu with about nine different courses but I can't remember a thing about it because I also had the wine taster menu.Bruce Rioja wrote:I see that Jamie Oliver's opening a place on King St. Who's going to take one for the site and road test it?

I think this has a mistake in it Clappers; you appear to have written that the meal cost 360 quid for two people...clapton is god wrote:A couple of years ago my daughter bought us a voucher for Olivers Fifteen restaurant in that there London. My bezzy mate took his Mrs to L'enclume for her birthday and did the taster menu. When I asked him how much it came to he replied "Forty Quid more than I spent on my first car!"clapton is god wrote:A couple of years ago my daughter bought us a voucher for Olivers Fifteen restaurant in that there London. No, s'reet, I'm afraid. Quite obscene amount to pay for two meals but,as a one off, it weren't half good.CrazyHorse wrote:I think this has a mistake in it Clappers; you appear to have written that the meal cost 360 quid for two people...clapton is god wrote:A couple of years ago my daughter bought us a voucher for Olivers Fifteen restaurant in that there London. Apparently it's facing Rio Ferdinand's place, if you know where that is (I don't)boltonboris wrote:Is it the one on the top corner where HSBC used to be? (Across from Vivienne Westwood?)

I've got a three-way tie going on between Northcote Manor, Andrew Fairlie's place at Gleneagles, and the Hotel Hacienda in San Miguel.

I don't think the Jamie Oliver Italians are as expensive.
But for those saying they wouldn't pay that much, it depends how good it is. That sort of thing is an experience, something you'd only do once.
Got to be into food I guess.

Pasta should be tossed through the sauce or you'll make Torode unhappy!Bruce Rioja wrote:Your Uncle Bruce's Spag Bol. Showing vegitarians the error of their ways
And I'd not like big lumps in it, needs to be a fine sauce for me.....
