Shirt sponsors Standard Charterd getting their knickers in a twist over this now.
Re: Liverpool laughing stocks?
That's pretty much it. It is strange though that LFC have had so many opportunities to put this issue to rest over the last few months and totally f&^ked up every chance they have. I don't know how an organization can screw up so badly over and over. I bet Henry is absolutely livid about this incident and as said above the reason apologies were issued yesterday.blurred wrote:On what, exactly? Do you feel with the apologies finally, given regardless of whether people think they are sincere will finally allow this matter to blow over or do you expect it to continue to fester?
Re: Liverpool laughing stocks?
I include the FA and Man United in that, too, by the way - as well as many of our fans, the media and just about anyone else that's been contaminated by it.seanworth wrote:That's pretty much it. No, I don't think it'll blow over - the next time we play them it'll come up again, as there'll be another week's worth of repeating all this handshake bollocks, and the whole issue will dog Dalglish and Suarez for the rest of their time in Liverpool. And most fans have long memories, which'll mean this'll be part of the modern day 'rivalry' for years to come, I fancy.
I'm so thoroughly fecking sick of all of this shit and the mix of conspiracy, cock-up and downright nastiness it's not true.

the apologies are kinda negated if it is then admitted that they were both made to issue pre-worded apologies at the barrel of a gun...seanworth wrote:That's pretty much it. We were having him watched, and everything he typed, monitored.
Re: Liverpool laughing stocks?
Not sure if I agree with you that much especially regarding the conspiracy bit. Sure Man U milked this, and as far as the FA is concerned they screw up everything quite consistantly so it is hardly a surprise. At the end of the day though LFC are as much if not even more to blame than Suarez in the continuation of this stain on the reputation of the LFC. They have mishandled every opportunity to put this matter to rest, whether it be incompetance, arrogance, naivity or just plain stupidity. Man U have simply just kept stirring the pot, and the FA are well, the FA. I agree that the scandal will continue for the time being, but eventually it will be put to rest. Before that happens though the players should stop doing stupid stunts like wearing Suarez shirts, and Daghleish needs to listen to his advisors before opening his mouth. I understand that you are accepting LFC are responsible for a lot of the blame in this affair, but I think they need to accept more of the blame. Let's face it at the very least they took the bait every time it was offered.blurred wrote:I include the FA and Man United in that, too, by the way - as well as many of our fans, the media and just about anyone else that's been contaminated by it.seanworth wrote:That's pretty much it. Re: Liverpool laughing stocks?
It all went tits up when Suarez admitted to saying what he said and yet, everybody else at Liverpool denied everything and put their fingers in their ears.
As soon as all that bollocks happened they were fair game for this so called 'witch hunt'
