*Is* Ryo cup-tied? As correctly stated previously, he can't play for Arsenal again this season, hasn't represented them in the FA Cup yet, and would be prevented from playing against his owners if the cup drew us together.

And in answer to the question about whether Ryo would be eligible...well, he seems to figure in the game...

http://www.bwfc.co.uk/page/General/0,,1 ... 00,00.html" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Owen Coyle says that both Tim Ream and Ryo Miyaichi could be in line to make their first starts for Bolton Wanderers against Millwall.

Ream has yet to play a single minute for the Whites since completing his move from New York Red Bulls last month.

Ryo, however, got his first taste of action against Wigan last weekend when he impressed having been introduced as a half-time substitute.

Another January acquisition, Marvin Sordell, is cup-tied for the trip to the Den after playing for Watford in their third and fourth round ties against Bradford City and Tottenham Hotspur.

Coyle said: "I think it's fair to say that Tim Ream will definitely be involved in the matchday 18, as will Ryo Miyaichi.

"They have a bit of training to do before that game, but we will pick the best team available to us to go and win a difficult FA Cup tie.

"We have a squad of very good players and we may make one or two changes. We will have a look, see how we train today and Friday and make a decision from there."

The trip to The Den will be Wanderers' first visit to Millwall's own patch since Coyle was at Bolton as a player.

Back in March 1995, John McGinlay won the game for Bolton in a campaign that ended with the Whites earning promotion to the Premier League.

Coyle's recollections from that day are that Wanderers received a thorough examination despite winning the game 1-0.

And now, almost 17 years on, he is expecting the same against a team that has won five and drawn six of their 16 home Championship fixtures so far this season.

"It's a tie that we are looking forward to and, first and foremost, we have to go and play the game," Coyle said about the prospect of going to The Den (above), often recognised for it's atmosphere.

"We were disappointed by the performance last Saturday, there's no doubt about that.

"When players play well the team wins games and if they don't, like in the first half last week, then you can leave yourself open to losing matches.

"When we got to 1-1 against Wigan we were the better side and probably should have gone on to win the match, but we didn't.

"If you have a disappointing result one weekend, the next match provides an opportunity to address that, so we move on and we are expecting a tough test at The Den.

"Millwall have shown their qualities recently; they won at Southampton in the previous round, they should have beaten Derby at home last week and had to settle for a 0-0, while they were very unlucky not to take all the points at Brighton on Tuesday night when they led twice.

"They have got a good balance of youth and experience, and so there's no doubt that it will be a extremely tough tie.

"But for our part, it's the FA Cup and it's a great opportunity to get into the last-eight of the competition.

"We are going to have to play very well because an away draw in the FA Cup is never easy, as Macclesfield showed us back in the third round.

"But if we bring the level of performance that we did against Liverpool and Arsenal, we know that we can be in the hat for the quarter-final draw."
"Young people, nowadays, imagine money is everything."

"Yes, and when they grow older they know it."

McGinlay did well against them last time out. Perhaps he'll start up front. At least we know not that really it's all down to the players playing well because when they do we win games and when they dont play well we lose.On balance then although we have some very good players in the squad they just havent played very well most weeks for the last 7 months but if they play better we'll be climbing that table ney bother.
The team talk will of course be play better and win lads and the team will be picked on the basis of who pulls their finger out on friday. Who said managing a football team was complicated Owen has got it down to a simplistically fine art.

His belief in statements like that is truly commendable. Totally wrong, but commendable.

Im going down on the train. You say "Im going to Millwall" to anyone and they instantly start writing your obituary, I'm hoping their opinions are based on what theyve seen and heard in the past and that its a more accessible place these days. If only slightly.

I read about a bar called The Euston Tap on a blog I visit and it looks interesting so Ill call in there, but down near the London Bridge area Ill play it by ear. I enjoyed it in the Southwark Tavern down in that area so Ill try in there - and they do Salty Dog crisps!

Heard a bloke on 5 live the other night saying that Millwall is one of the most enjoyable friendly clubs to visit nowadays and suggesting they sing "everyone likes us we do care" so maybe things have improved
