Not advocating mass-murder as an entirely positive experience, of course, but it had its moments.

I'd have to say the same about Holden, hes become a fan favourite and we've stuck by him depsite two big injuries, I think he'd give us a season and if we go back up he'll stay, if we don't he'll move on!bobo the clown wrote:You think the Moo would eave ??wanderers_on_tour wrote:Holden, Lee, Muamba and Mark Davies would all be gonners imo.

Klinsmann obviously rates Holden enough to fly to Lancashire to watch his first game back in a reserve game, let's have a think what he'll be saying to Holden if we go down... Nevermind his agent, whoever that is.
Ditto for Lee.
These two have the chance to be their country's most famous players in the future, and they and the people around them know it...
Maybe I'm pessimistic but let's remember what talks in this sport - it ain't sentiment.

holdens had 3 big injuries in 2 years...big gamble for any club to take him on. If he comes back fit he will have 6 months left on his deal come next january, will be a bargain for someone then.
Lee and mark davies will be our saleable assets. Lee will finally get a full english pre seaspn and become a quality player :'(

I'm with the Bish et al in still holding the belief we can stay up perhaps even with a bit to spare. If we went down then yes should mavis finish the season well he'll be off to a club where he can be used in a 451 and no doubt will flourish. We might get 5/6 mil for him. I cant see cyl or Holden going until January as teams will want to make sure they arent crocks and who knows if we look like coming back up they could be persuaded to sign again. I'd imagine should coyle still be manager moo would put in a request in the summer. It's credit to the fella he hasnt done so already given the lack of appreciation shown by his manager. If we go down we'll be playing 442 and with Holden fit there would be no starting place for moo or Mavis inspite of them currently being our most effective players.

Unless they're going to cash in on Djemba Ba and switch to 451 that doesnt make much sense unless of course Coyle is doing a bit of scouting for them and has told them he's great as a winger or in central midfield.Mind you they are considerably wealthier than us so 6 mil for an impact sub may fit for them.Dave Sutton's barnet wrote:The BN says Newcastle are keeping an eye on him.officer_dibble wrote:Lee and mark davies will be our saleable assets.

Quite so. Cabaye takes a fine free kick but he also does more than his fair share of tackling, while Tiote does even more of the nasty necessary. I think I said before that they're like us last season, overachieving in a few key areas – goalkeeper having a stormer, surprisingly effective striker, immense central midfield pairing.Ianmooreslovechild wrote:Unless they're going to cash in on Djemba Ba and switch to 451 that doesnt make much sense unless of course Coyle is doing a bit of scouting for them and has told them he's great as a winger or in central midfield.Mind you they are considerably wealthier than us so 6 mil for an impact sub may fit for them.Dave Sutton's barnet wrote:The BN says Newcastle are keeping an eye on him.officer_dibble wrote:Lee and mark davies will be our saleable assets.
Mind you, they also have an incredibly well-drilled defence and a manager whose tactical switches are frequently working. After their win at our place over Christmas the home inquest centred on Coyle's 66th-minute replacement of Muamba with Eagles, two minutes before the newly-centralised Mark Davies failed to track Hatem Ben Arfa for the Toon's opener. It might also be noted that Ben Arfa had only been on the field for seven minutes himself, replacing ineffective striker Leon Best as Pardew stopped matching our own stiff 4-4-2 in favour of a more fluid formation with Ben Arfa floating off Ba. Ten minutes later both had scored, and Newcastle had won a game by replacing a striker with a midfielder.

But ,but how could it have been so. They took off an attacker and played a midfielder yet went on to score two and not conceed? What strange alchemy is this?Dave Sutton's barnet wrote:Quite so. It cant be right we should have scored more than them cos we had more attackers on the pitch.Surely that is natural logical way things work?

Mavis has a 3 year contract, so unless there's a low sell-on clause £6m ain't going to cover it. He'll love the 2nd division.

Playing where in Coyle's beloved 442 ?bobo the clown wrote:Mavis has a 3 year contract, so unless there's a low sell-on clause £6m ain't going to cover it. He'll love the 2nd division.
6/7 million given the opportunities he will be afforded to show his quality before the summer is what we'll get and we'll sell him because he doesnt fit the system we must play. His next transfer may well be double that if he gets a run in a decent team in his best position.
The 3 years on his contract wont make a difference if he's not being used properly. He'll want to leave and we wont need him.

what I meant was that, unless there's some clause in there, £6m will not cover it.Ianmooreslovechild wrote:Playing where in Coyle's beloved 442 ?bobo the clown wrote:Mavis has a 3 year contract, so unless there's a low sell-on clause £6m ain't going to cover it. He'll love the 2nd division.

Frankly though .... & remember these guys just work for Bolton, they don't come from here .... Muamba & Mavis would have every right at the end of this year to ask for a move, especially if "He-who cannot be fathomed" is still manager.

Re: 2012-13 N'Power Championship Wanderers
I think we're agreeing Bobo but I cant see us getting more than 6 million inspite of the time left on his contract and I cant see him or Moo staying if coyle stays and we play 442. Pissed off players have a habit of depreciating and being sold regardless of time left on contract. Course should coyle be gone it should be a totally different bucket of sprats
