The Battle of Stamford Bridge

I know it's a bit early, but blame OC (yet again), he's started it !!

Chelsea are having a bit of a torrid time of it at the moment. So I can't imagine a better time for them to play us, in that case.

Thank God we aren't at 'Fortress Reebok'.

C'mon Whites, surprise us all .... 4-5-1.

We'll get beat, Sturridge and Cahill will score.

They'll probably have a little mini resurgence against Napoli. Think we could grab a draw.

Backs to the wall job, play Miyaichi and Eagles on the flanks, hit them on the counter. Play Ream, not Knight, because his pace will be necessary.

Oh, and in case it wasn't already obvious - START MUAMBA. AND THEN PLAY HIM FOR THE FULL 90 MINUTES.

Play the same 11 as today. Chelsea dont appear to want to play for AVB and with Luis at the back we should have a chance or two. Will Cole still be banned? Chelsea fans will soon get on the teams back if we keep it tight.

Maybe just maybe for once we wont be the suckers who give the suckers a break. That said a Torres hat trick would be no surprise if we return to type.

We will get nothing apart from a hiding and sent back on our way with a 5-0 defeat smarting.

play a narrow 4-4-1-1- don't let them play through our middle- let them have it wide
Tuncay just behind N'Gog
Pratley in for Myachi
good for a point

Myaichi tracked back well today aswell as being a threat and scoring an excellent goal. I'm looking forward to seeing how he gets on against a fairly ordinary chelsea defence.

but i would seriously consider playing narrow against Chelsea and letting Tuncay or Mark Davies put pressure on Luiz/Cahill.
let full backs have it in their own half
Pratley for nuisance value and running.
maybe a bit negative but i can see us getting a 0-0

A team who've had about 3 clean sheets in 2 league seasons, who've lost their best defender, away to one who can pick Drogba, Sturridge & (I know, but still) Torres ... & we should go for a 0-0 and the secret weapon we have to aid us is Prateley ? A player not fit to lace my boots !?

B-hell, it's strong stuff that Napalm. :O

Under Sam I'd be confident we'd be set up and prepared enought to have a chance of a draw.

Under this numpty, it'll be 4/5-0.
Good job we've an easier game the week after, eh!

:D remember you heard it here first!!
of course i'm covered- OC won't play without two wide players- and therefore we'll probably lose this one.

For a moment there I thought you were talking about chelsea :D
Birmingham came close to beating them yesterday with a 451.Our wide players can tuck inside and track back as necessary but we have to maintain some threat. I'm sure chelsea will have the lions share of possession but if we dont get stretched and leave them plenty of space we can contain them. They have a dodgy defence so driving at them from midfield can pay off.AVB is making himself really popular at present playing sturridge out wide , subbing Mata, using two holding mids, not using Lamps. The chelsea fans are baffled by much of his decision making so as long as coyle doesnt have a brain fart again we are in with a shout for a point at least.

I think it was the Pratley bit which confused me !!

that cahill lad looks a bit crap, particularly against corners. he wants targetting.

Do NOT concede early and see how we go, frustration would set in if it's 0-0 after half an hour... (which is a joke but is the reality)
