Go for it - you are definitely capable of getting round that course which is considerably flatter than last weekends.Bruce Rioja wrote:So - a natural progression? A new goal? Or just me getting carried away?

A cheaper & shorter alternative (based on GtEs advice) which I would recommend

It's as much road as trail, nice part of the world & helps a local running club. They gave a good quality t-shirt & water bottle to all finishers last year too

Ah, they left a flyer on my car for that which I didn't read properly. Would have been just the job that, Harry, but I've agreed to do the parkrun that weekend now.Harry Genshaw wrote:Go for it - you are definitely capable of getting round that course which is considerably flatter than last weekends.Bruce Rioja wrote:So - a natural progression? I'd get comfortable with the 5Ks first - then maybe if you want/need a new challenge do a similar training programme to the c25k programme - there are plenty out there...
here's one that looks doable...
http://www.halhigdon.com/training/51122 ... ce-Program
then you can go for the 10k races...

Got the day off tomorrow to do the first pre marathon 20 miler. Legs will be sore enough afterwards but supposed to be driving up to Scotland on Saturday - I think I'll let Mrs G do the honours

Swilling your mouth out with sugarry water is as effective as an isotonic drink. You don't even have to swallow. (Fnarr). You just have to fool your body into releasing stored nutrients etc.

My ex rows for Cambridge and she swears by milk: says it's the best thing for you after exercise. Loads of protein and shiz in it.
