Watched Braveheart, the truth, last night. Tore the Mell Gibson version to ribbons. Fascinating part about longbows and armour in it. English arrows ( demonstrated by the War Bow Society) pierced a side of beef and broke bone, yet padded jackets made of multi layers of cloth actually stopped them doing the same thing. Oh, and blue paint was never used and kilts weren't invented till a few hundred years later, and the famous "Wallace Sword" that attracts the tourists was proven a total fake. .

Sorry Mel, the film was as jocose as you, a born New Zealander, turning up at the Scottish premier of the film in full Scottish reglia in tartan kilt, sporran and shawl.

Sorry Hoss, but Strictly Ballroom was the best Aussie film. Great music and dance, but mainly a really funny spoof taking the mick out of ballroom heirarchy....And then there was Bluey, Skippy and Whiplash..
