Many of you really should be listening to Jo Hamilton, seriously.

hmmm... had a quick listen - I can see a kind of bjorkish influence in the backing music - not in the voice though - which is a bit sickly-sweet for my taste - a little Goldfrappian???Bruce Rioja wrote:Many of you really should be listening to Jo Hamilton, seriously.

You think so? I can hear Sigur Ros in the backing music, I certainly can't hear Alison Goldfrapp in it anywherethebish wrote:hmmm... had a quick listen - I can see a kind of bjorkish influence in the backing music - not in the voice though - which is a bit sickly-sweet for my taste - a little Goldfrappian???Bruce Rioja wrote:Many of you really should be listening to Jo Hamilton, seriously.

As the man who introduced me to Death Cab, I expected much from you Bruce. Went straight to Youtube, typed in Jo Hamilton and was, well, slightly underwhelmed to be honest

Uma mesa para um, faz favor. Obrigado.

Ok, had a look at 3 or 4 tracks and I'm reasonably impressed. I don't think they'd make it onto my top 20 albums on my i pod, a tad melancholic for me, but cheers Bruce.
I defintely would though............

I'm not going after you two.
Had a little listen, think perhaps you need to be in a "particular mood" to do an album full. Might try it in the car.

To Survive is a stunning album, Worthy. It requires an evening in by oneself a a bottle of something tasty.Worthy4England wrote:I'm not going after you two.

Ah, you'd be fine. An ex once told me I only had a litle organ. I told her it wasn't that small, it was just used to playing in small chapels, not cathedrals.Worthy4England wrote:I'm not going after you two.

I wasn't worried about the chapel itself - just whether it was below a flood plain, so I'd need my wellies.Bijou Bob wrote:Ah, you'd be fine. An ex once told me I only had a litle organ. oh yes - Rachmaninov is always worth the time..William the White wrote:Oh, yes... wonderful... Up there with Rachmaninov (do you like, thebish?).thebish wrote:aaaaaaaanyway!!!!

but - different kind of animal to Chopin.. I think it is Chopin's simplicity (he doesn't overdo the notes!) and melancholy that appeal most to me... (also - I can play some Chopin (albeit badly), whereas most Rachmaninov is a long way beyond me!)
