I couldn't agree more. But I maintain we didn't play badly. We played badly in the Wigan game, today was nothing like that.
OK, so you're happy for us to stand like statues whilst the other side thread it between our lot? Ace!
Sure, why not. :D

I'm not going to go on about it like cos all this typing is stopping me from pouring ale down my neck but we played better than I expected us to, particularly after I saw the teamsheet. Maybe I'm just having a Sammy Lee positive moment I dunno.

We played alright from 10-45, having more shots and shots on target than them

Less said about the first 10 the better, and second half they were in full control

Least it wasn't a complete thumping and should be more easily forgotten before next week by the players compared to a 6-0.

Oh and we didn't concede from a corner!!

thought we'd get dry humped 5 ways from Thursday..
Weren't that bad after the initial blitzkrieg - Boggers was a positive as ever and we actually looked like threatening on a couple of occasions.. Season starts here ... again.. but I still doubt we've enough goals in us on recent form..
Are we in League 2 yet - Three seasons and we'll be away to Chesham

Anyone who thinks we can beat the teams around us to stay up this season has:
a) not looked at the table
b) delusions on the scale of Coyle's

We are down. To win as many games as we need to stay up would represent a miracle which only happens in Hollywood. Down, and with Coyle in charge not coming back up. He and his coaching team of chancers should have been fecked off in October.

i know im only watching motd but this is as abject as september when we were shipping 4s and 5s - all this 'better than expected' is only cos (a) city were unlucky/not as sharp as teams in august and; (b) cos the refs not given a couple of penalties.

poor

Hmm yes Knight or Wheater? They aren't equals are they?

Knight looks like he's sleepwalking which makes his constant attempts to pull down balotelli's shorts a tad disconcerting.

He gives the impression of having some commitment which Knight never has. He can attack the ball and is better on the deck. Shame Wheater is so slow.

Knight really seized the opportunity to show his talents today.Ref must have felt sorry for him

BUT, we only have to win one more game than the three teams above us and we stay up. i.e. we just have to be the best of the worst. Hence as a start we must beat QPR and Blackburn at home and Wolves away and then match them for the rest of the season and we will be safe!!! Not much of a straw but its a straw never the less!!!

The way the bottom 5 teams are playing pehaps 35 will be enough to stay up, so that's ONLY another 13 points from 11 games. Not an impossible task for any of them!! We have six home games left and if we could win four and draw a couple away we could be safe!

There's that straw again! :)

I like that straw and it is one I'm happy to cling on to. Only thing is that the other teams won't roll over since they will definitely see us as one of their winnable games and if we set up and perform as we did against Wigan they'll be reet!

Fixture list is helpful to us now compared to others but it still relies on us winning games which is not something we experience very often. I am getting fed up though of these afternoons where you know the game is up when you see the teamsheet. I try to support Coyle but don't understand why he won't stick with what works!!

This is very true- however Wigan (home) apart when OC got it wrong (though i still think the players shoulder a lot of the blame) our record against the teams around us is reasonable.
QPR is massive- win and its 50/50 again lose and it 80/20 we're gone

and this bit i'm not so sure about.
not sure that anything has worked THAT well that he should stick to it!
when was the last time in the Prem that playing with one striker got us a goal?

I went to the game with my school yesterday(uddingston Grammar) and really enjoyed the game.

As much as Man City were fantastic, I enjoyed watching Bolton and thought that they threatened City abit. Owen Coyle set his team up to frustrate them and until they scored the first goal the home fans were quite nervy.

I have seen Owen Coyles teams before playing my team(Motherwell) and they were usually defensively solid and looked good on the counter attack and Bolton reminded me abit of the old St Johnstone today.

I enjoyed the whole experience of a premiership match and it was good to see Bolton and I firmly believe that they will beat the drop.

City, Liverpool, United,Arsenal and Chelsea in the first five games from seven didn't do much for a confident start, in fact, it shattered it. We've never really recovered from it apart from the Everton, Liverpool again and Arsenal games. Playing Chelsea and City in the last two weeks was hardly a chance of changing anything. Our run-in, maybe Tottenhm apart, at least gives us a chance of turning things over.

Wolves have still got United, Arsenal, City and Everton to face;
Wigan have Liverpool, United, Arsenal and Chelsea to come.
Blackburn have United, Liverpool Tottenham and Chelsea.
Q.P.R. have Liverpool,Arsenal, United, Chelsea and City.
On top of that, Wolves Blackburn and Q.P.R. all have to play us.

It'sup to ourselves, but given a half-decent run in we should still avoid the drop.
