You do tend to forget Kean's still there as he has no money to spend, a crowd that don't like him and errrrr 2 more points than us...and a team that's currently not in the relegation zone.

Beating Wigan was 2 similar formation playing each other, we were the better team and got the rub of the green. Nothing wrong with the tactics on that day because of the quality of players, confidence and formation we were playing against.

However, it seems that was more luck than judgement.

Is beating a team in a one enough to say who is the better manager?

It's not about how we do against each other, it's about how we do overall.

While you're still trying to get your head round it, you might also consider how you think our spending situation is worse than Swansea, Norwich, West Brom etc.

Sorry but I still think Steve Kean has been doing a decent job at Blackburn inspite of having to work whilst being shafted by the ownersand hammered by the fans because he's not the Billy Big Bollocks they've been used to. Blackburn have looked organised and motivated most games I've seen them.The game we beat them IIRC they had no fit defenders available.

No.

We've had two months of transfer window whilst both were injured - a month's worth of August and one again in January. We've spent nearly £12m over that sort of timeframe (although I think £2m of that for Eagles/Mears was prior to CYL getting injured).

If Holden and CYL were that important, why not spend some of the £10m on finding replacements for them? He either thinks he's got it covered, or he should have done something about it in one of the transfer windows. Which he hasn't - so I supposed he doesn't think it's that important to address.

Obviously it hasnt helped,there's no denying there's been a crazy number of injuries to key players. It's the constant changes, crazy decisions and erosion of player confidence which I find hard to stomach. It's hardly making the best of what is available.
No matter what line of work you are in you need leadership which
is fair and consistent in dealing with individuals
doesnt bare grudges/appear to have favourites/scapegoats
appears to have a plan
reacts calmly and appropriately to adverse situations
instills belief in his team and has reasonable expectations
accepts his own mistakes and doesnt repeat them
assesses situations realistically and honestly
recognises the individual strengths of those at his disposal and focusses on maximizing those strengths

The only consistent thing about coyle is his failure to show any of the qualities of a good leader/man manager

Coyle's 'great scheme of things' future-of-the-club-generating its-own is ideal. His problem is that he's trying to sell it to players that form no part of it. If you're out the door at the end of this season what's your motivation? (And if anyone says £XXX per week then they're every bit as bad as Coyle)
