Not the first half, for me, strangely. Second held was.thebish wrote:Annoyed Grunt wrote:My, that was a nervy finish. Shouted myself a little hoarse today, you could feel the tension in the ground.
Thought we were the better team first half, not in the second. One piece of good luck.....and all three points.
Will be a happy Saturday evening, for a change.
whole game was! only way I got through it was by getting GG to distract me!
more nerves to come, though, I fear....
Distracting you? Yawning Donkey?

But Worthy how many premier class centre halves are there in the premier league now. Most teams cant defend. Wheater will always be slow but he did well today and Id still rather see him than the gutless streak of piss he's keeping out.Worthy4England wrote:Hmmm tricky one. Ngog, Davies and Myiachi were excellent in the first half, without much end product. Ream was reasonably comfortable.
Pratley and Petrov were generally dire, although I think I can recall an occasion where Petrov beat the first man with a couple of crosses.
.
Steinsson, Ricketts, NRC, all fairly anonymous, so I think on balance, I'd probably give it Klasnic for bagging the winner (well if they managed to give it to Tuncay against Wigan, there's hope for everyone.) Or maybe Bogdan for ahem saving ahem what looked to be a certain goal.
Thought Steinsson was particularly crap again.Boggers was mom for me but honourable mentions for Ream,Wheater,Mavis and Ngog(purely for movement and workrate with little support)Shame Klasnic isnt really up for 90 mins but great to see him back
Re: QPR thread
I think whats even better about the whole controversy issue is that QPR are in denial how bad the performances have been, not only against us, they've had their good fixture list so lets hope thats one place less to worry about finishing in. They can carry on being bitter and carry on the poor form without addressing their poor performances all day long. Of course we were lucky but, they didn't take any of their chances apart from a massively deflected pass that put it on a plate for a offside striker. When that happens, in the "barclays premier league", you'll get a punished and today Klasnic was the executioner.
By the sounds of it Ream and Wheater played decent with some excellent last ditch defending, Pratley has to be given praise for a well taken goal and Bogdan pulled off a fantstic save to con the officials. Stick with the 4-5-1 and hopefully with some more luck we might manage to stay up.

BTW, watched the match in a pub in Sheffield. Was talking to someone who reckoned he went to school with Freddie Hill. Interesting chat. Didn't really rate the match, pleased I didn't go. Had a decent afternoon and there's a little hope now.

Re: QPR thread
Tough call for me between Knight and Wheater. Wheater is undoubtedly the better of the two, but scares the shit out of me when we defend at the HW line. Every time, I think if someone runs at him at about SKD pace or faster, he's liable to rugby tackle them. Can we afford a defender who's likely to miss 6 or 9 games a season for donkey sending offs?Ianmooreslovechild wrote:But Worthy how many premier class centre halves are there in the premier league now. Most teams cant defend. Is this an act or are you genuinely such a miserable sod?Worthy4England wrote:Clueless cnut doesn't deserve Klasnic. If we saty up, it'll be in spite of the useless stubborn feck.
First half, I thought we were reasonable in possession but didn't really have much (any) goal threat. It felt like we were well on top in terms of territory too. They were generally poor, especially given what they've spent. That said, they had two or three great chances, one that hit the bar and the one that looked in from where I was sat (which was behind the goal). How the lino missed it is anyone's guess.
Second half after inspirational team talk, Cisse pops in to score, not sure he was offside from where I was, but we looked really nervous, only to have our nerves calmed when the goal machine came off the naughty boys bench.
The QPR fan above, give your head a shake. Neither Bolton goals offside. And given you lot played Peterboro much more recently than us, you should still be able to remember what the pies are like.
Coyle's fecking stupid stubbornness will be the thing that relegates us if anything.

Re: QPR thread
Yes if we have cover. Maybe the high line thing will go with coyle and mayne if the centre halves dont end up too far apart Ream and Ricketts will cover his lack of pace . Our defence is a bit lopsided pacewise now.Whippets on the left and snails on the right. Will be better when Ricketts can move back to the rightWorthy4England wrote:Tough call for me between Knight and Wheater. Quick heads-up and a thanks to William the White for sorting my ticket for today. Was really nice to meet you (and your pal, Martin), and yes, we'll go for that pint sometime soon. Was great to see Tango again and have his company for the match.

Points above performance
Lot of nervy stuff out there.
like the cut of Ream's gib - good distribution and apart from one feck up looks good positionally.
Davies came on to a good game - NGog very good first half.
Rc struggled to hold SWP- bad move by Hughes taking him off.
always had the feeling we were going to nick it which is directly the opposite to every other game this season
thought Pratley did quite well- oh- and as it turns out a great substitution from Coyle.
