It shouldn't have been taken in the first place, wasn't even a corner! It came off Cisse

Indeed, which they casually skipped over! Even said it shouldn't have been a corner, but ignoring that, shocking that QPR didn't get a goal and it could be costly. Eh?!

And corner was fine. Whole of the ball has to be over whole of the line for it not to be in the 'quadrant'. Overhanging is fine. Oddly, fecking refs don't seem to know this!

This ref knows. Unfortunately I don't get £65,000 per year, plus £500 per game, plus expenses. I think you mean commentators and pundits don't know this - because it's them who make all the noise about it.

It was embarrassing that grown men stood in the lower tier corners shouting, swearing and waving their arm about complaining that what he was doing shouldn't be allowed.

There was one piece of skill yesterday that raised the first collective in-take of breath I've heard at the Reebok since Jay Jay was strutting his stuff. A long and high crossfield ball swirled in the wind and I swear it changed course three times as it made its way towards Petrov who actually had his back to the ball as he ran towards where it was heading. He then put a foot out and killed the ball stone dead as he took it totally in his stride. 'Oooh.' went all sides of the ground and there was a short ripple of applause only interrupted a couple of seconds later as his second clumsy touch took the ball over the by line.

Ryo's currently the only player at our place that can take a corner that does't hit the first defender. After seeing Eagles tw*t a well-positioned free-kick into the wall today gives me hope that Coyle may even grow the nuts to put him on free-kicks.

See I thought Ryo had a good game and it was a superb piece of play to play in klasnic. But I'd not let him take another corner again. Barely got the thing off the ground let alone past the first man!
You'd obviously gone for several pisses when he sent them to the back post but no-one attacked the ball then?! :conf:
Or one reallly long one that lasted most of the first half....

Petrov - hit's first man nearly every time. I was a hollerin to get Ryo taking the corners on our left too...

You may recall that most of the shouting was in relation to when he originally placed the ball, clearly outside of the quadrant. Ref came over and asked him to replace it, at which point some a fair amount of the din quietened down..

on MOTD?? not sure that was really an anti-Bolton comment... he was making a point about them having (on paper) a real goal-threat in Cisse/Zamora - potentially the biggest goal-threat strike force in the bottom five...

contrasted with ours - it's a reasonable point to make...

I don't think he had factored in their run-in, though...

Media uproar in the sports pages. Got two papers and it's all about the injustice of QPR being denied a goal. Short mention (very short) about Cisse's offside, but claims that Pratley's goal was also offside. Big stress on poor old QPR, but just highlighting that Bolton hardly matter in the eyes of the southern biased football world. Oh,and Barton was being a right twxt about pushing the ball outside the line for corners right from the off. It was right under our noses. He also turfed himself a tee peg as big as a rugby penalty tee every time. End of day, three points and a win to us and all the Hughes and media wailing in the world won't change that.

We're not very fashionable anyway, the media don't have "fan discontent" or "managerial change" to focus on so they don't know what to say about us. And Coyle doesn't tend to give anyone much to discuss. There was something the other day about relegation where we weren't mentioned. I took it as confirmation we're staying up.

BTW, talking about the national media being clueless, anyone see the full post-match interview with Coyle on BBC? He was asked why our top goalscorer hasn't been playing. When I heard that my heart sank. He's probably still bitter about the whole 2 strikers thing, no need to keep reminding him.

BTW(2), good job on Saturday Owen! Bit lucky but it worked.

I read ( from an interview apparantly) he's not been using Klasnic in order to stiffen up the midfield. Effectively, it's sound enough as long as he uses him (and other strikers) as the game demands. Shame Klasnic isn't a ninety minute man, he's good at receiving and shielding the ball and not unskilled in ball play. Front man in a 4-5-1 is a tough role against most good sides with organised defences.

hughes can fcuk off - 1 decision each.
What was the formation after Klazza came on, was he dropped deeper or was it your standard 4-4-2?
442, but all over the shop
at 1-1 I didn't see us scoring..I envisaged stumpy being trotted on in a 442. To be fair to Coyle bringing Eagles and Klas on was our best chance of scoring as they carry our biggest goal threat. I'm quite unique in that I actually like both players...klasnic cos of his end product and eagles cos he tries and does have some very good games.

Oh and on 442
if it was:
bogdan
steinsson
ricketts
wheater
ream
MUAMBA
reo coker
2 wingers
Klasnic
ngog

that would be a lot better than any previos version this season and not something I would be adverse to in the right game.

I think if Holden was fit we would be 4-4-2 @ home with Klas up front.

Cant quote tangos post but Klasnic lasted 90.mins a lot earlier this season. I dont think he would do the job ngog does up top on his own but ngog cant score. Its a tough one.

lawro was a cock end last night, clearly wants us down. Use that in the dressing room Owen.

Having said that Coyles rant about shearer was laughable. For once Alan made some decent analysis! And Knightmare was dropped!!

I think if coyle wasnt such a dick with muamba we could play 442 a lot better with holden injured.

Atkinson didn't, nor did his linesman. Both kicked the ball back 'into' the quadrant. First time I've ever seen a lino act as if he had a corporeal existence in relation to the ball! Other then when they've fallen over it :F

Is the correct answer. I'm not agin 4-4-2, I'm agin 4-4-2 with the line-up he generally picks to play it.

There was one game earlier this season where large parts of the ground were going mental at a lino for not giving offside. From a goal kick.
