Re: klasnic
ok, so it's confirmed... he's ready to start against Fulham tomorrow... good news.
Re: klasnic
Back in the goals! Seriously needs to play a big part in the run-in, Ngog works hard but Klasnic is our only goalscorer!
Re: klasnic
I am in the camp that says Klasnic should be playing... but that camp is surrounded by the 4-5-1 army who are taking no prisoners.
Re: klasnic
We really are in a catch 22 situation.
We all want to play 4-5-1, which means 1 striker.
Play Klasnic and you get nobody up front holding the ball up and outting effort in. Bu youll get the odd goal.
Play Ngog and you get a great footballer who will help the team but get no goals.
Ideally you want them playing together, but that means 4-4-2.

Yep. That sums it up.keveh wrote:We really are in a catch 22 situation.

Re: klasnic
With'chungy and holden, it might just work to play him. Not with the current midfielders.
Re: klasnic
answer is simple... 3-5-2The Axman wrote:Yep. That sums it up.keveh wrote:We really are in a catch 22 situation.

Re: klasnic
I would be tempted to pla 4-4-2 at home with Ngog dropping in to an almost AMC role.
Away we definitely need Ngog starting on his own to relieve pressure.

Re: klasnic
Do we need to relieve pressure against Villa, WBA, and Stoke?

Re: klasnic
Its not about relieving pressure, its about the fact we don't have a good enough midfield to play 4-4-2 in many games.
It is a hard situation with our only real consistent goal threat marginalised. Course needs plotting carefully, though thats what we pay Coyle to do.

Re: klasnic
We pay him? He doesn't do it for free??
Re: klasnic
But back to the point. If we play Pratley, of course the midfield isn't good enough. But can't we get a decent midfield together now Miyaichi is available. Surely we have four footballers who can both pass the ball upfield, deliver crosses from wide, and mobile and stong enough to provide supporting cover for the back four. Surely?

Re: klasnic
Well you put the question up as to "surely we can get a good enough midfield out" to play 4-4-2. So what dya suggest? The Axman wrote:uhmm er. That's Coyle's job isn't it?

You either have 2 CDMs (Muamba and NRC) or 2 ACMs (Pratters, M.Davies) or one of each. The Axman wrote:But back to the point. If we play Pratley, of course the midfield isn't good enough. I think the problem is that at home we either play against a much better team who may match us up in formation and outplay us, or we play a lesser team who stuffs the midfield away from home. This is my explanation for us doing slightly better away this season. Away from home you're going to face teams that are a lot more attacking, and less likely to stuff the midfield.
I think the Klazmeister coming on for a cameo against QPR, was perfect. Away from home it could work, how would you play him? Alongside Ngog?

Re: klasnic
Wigan play 3-4-3, let's try that!thebish wrote:answer is simple... 3-5-2
Ream Wheater Ricketts
Ryo NRC Muamba Petrov
M.Davies Ngog Sordell
Without the ball it'd be like a 5-4-1.
Not sure Klazza would have the legs to be one of the forwards though.

Re: klasnic
Just because One asks the question don't necessarily mean you've got the right answer.
But to answer AW first - Yes, up alongside Ngog, maybe with Ngog dropping off him a bit.
BWFCi how about Mavies, NRC, Muamba, and Miyaichi

Re: klasnic
Don't think he needs the legs. He could camp out on his deckchair in their box, or just do a few well executed runs into said box. He doesn't have to gallop all over the pitch like a demented racehorse.Armchair Wanderer wrote:Wigan play 3-4-3, let's try that!thebish wrote:answer is simple... 3-5-2

Haha. I mean, if you're playing 3 forwards you need some of them to get involved in the midfield somewhat. The Axman wrote:Don't think he needs the legs.
