Aye, that's working a treat for them isn't it?Armchair Wanderer wrote:Wigan play 3-4-3, let's try that!thebish wrote:answer is simple... 3-5-2
.
Playing Klasnic is like starting a game 1-0 up but with only 10 men on the pitch.
Did you doubt for a second he'd miss that chance? As soon as he got the ball I was out of my seat.
Very lucky on Saturday but I'm ok with that. We need a bit of luck.
I'm not asking you to 'think outside the box' I just wish you'd have a rummage around in it once in a while.

Re: klasnic
I think thats probably the only possible answer to that question of how we'd play a 4 man midfield. The Axman wrote:Just because One asks the question don't necessarily mean you've got the right answer.
But to answer AW first - Yes, up alongside Ngog, maybe with Ngog dropping off him a bit.
BWFCi how about Mavies, NRC, Muamba, and Miyaichi
The issue is that Mark Davies is more comfortable in the middle, but can't do that in a 4. On the right, he's never really worked. I certainly think though in some home games, we'll have to look at a system like that to get Klasnic on the pitch.
However, I fear Coyle will end up sticking KD and Ngog up front together again, if he does revert to two up, and play two non-scoring strikers together.....

Doomed. We're all doomed. We need more Pollocks.

Re: klasnic
I think that could work as long as the right back offers support and the width down the right for Davies to tuck in a bit. But with Wheater alongside him, I can understand Steinsson not being too keen on bombarding down the wing.BWFC_Insane wrote:I think thats probably the only possible answer to that question of how we'd play a 4 man midfield. The Axman wrote:Just because One asks the question don't necessarily mean you've got the right answer.

Re: klasnic
No need to change the starting line up. Klasnic is far more useful coming on for the last 25 mins. We just need to make sure we're still in the game which we wont be if he's starting. And we dont need to go gung ho if we do stick 2 up top.ie keep some players who can tackle on.

Re: klasnic
Thing is with Klas is that, with him up top, he's probably going to score more than N'gog. But with him there, we're definitely more likely to concede as it'll just keep coming back at us.
It's a difficult balance. But I'm sure N'gog does have goals in him somewhere. If we can get them out of him, then we'll have some player on our hands.
There was one point on Saturday, we were defending a corner (I think), it was half cleared and he picked it up on the edge of the box, legged it down the wing about 55 yards, even showing Cisse his heels before winning a free-kick. He's the only forward we have in the side at present who can do that and relieve pressure

Not the usual move of the dickhead, drop from 5 to 4 while taking the workhorse off

In fairness to coyle he has begun to show some common sense in the subs he's made over the last few games.Even the starting line up on saturday made some sense. Who knows,,perhaps whoever stole his brain has returned it

Sorry, thought we were talking somebody who could pick the ball up in our half and bomb 55 yards down the pitch to relieve pressure. Aren't midfielders allowed to do that?boltonboris wrote:He's a midfielderIanmooreslovechild wrote:GuzzuntheidThe Axman wrote:Miyaichi?boltonboris wrote:Thing is with Klas is that, with him up top, he's probably going to score more than N'gog. Re: klasnic
Yes Miyaichi does that but doesnt offer the physical presence that Ngog does when the ball is knocked toward him so can only offer part of the package. Miyaichi looks more than capable of playing anywhere across the front. Certainly could link play as a 2nd strikerThe Axman wrote:Sorry, thought we were talking somebody who could pick the ball up in our half and bomb 55 yards down the pitch to relieve pressure. Re: klasnic
Ngog: he can turn a man superbly but then inevitably panics and cocks it up. Still, I like him a lot. Works his nads off and makes himself a nuisnace for defenders. I think when Holden's back and we can revert to two up top (Ngog with Klasnic or Sordell) he'll come into his own.

Somebody somewhere is pissing on somebody else's chips.
Re: klasnic
Said it before, but I'd try N'Gog wider on the right with Miyachi back on the left and Klasnic up top.
Given that the chances of N'Gog ever getting on the end of one of his crosses is around about 0, there's not much point in Petrov playing.
