Credit to OC. he had the guts to play Pratley and it worked. He had the guts to go 4-4-2 at the risk of being slaugthered by us fans if it failed.. and it worked.

As far as playing 4-4-2 from the start...naw. We need Holden to do that. RC and Moo together give us nothing going forward in that formation. Our forwards and wingers would be starved. Changing it up in a game is fine, but keep it tight from the start. We are in a scrap. Nuff said.
:D

difficult for QPR to replace w@nker Warnock like for like but they've made a decent fist of it in Hughes
his managerial stock seems to be in irretreviable decline
good

It's amusing how a month or two ago Hughes was considered by many on here to be our potential saviour – "if only we could afford him".

So, to sum up the QPR game ( or at least as the media see it) :

It was a tragedy they lost and didn't get the three points (even if the "no goal" had been allowed they wouldn't have done that), it's okay for them to get corners that weren't, and score from offside positions, the officials were useless, they should have had two penalties and Mark Hughes and his team of terrific (and highly expensive) players were robbed. About Bolton, a few words from Bogdan which they see as confirming it all. About Bolton as a team who scored two goals and beat them, scarcely a word. Popular, ain't we just.

How he is performing at QPR is no indication as to how he might have done at Bolton.

Martin O'Neill would have been another potential saviour - "if only we could afford him". He isn't doing too bad.

Megson could be a saviour and he's free (when he's finished Brucie's garden)

Oh aye?

So what yardstick were you using when you wanted him here?

Just that he's better than the current incumbent.

That do you?

Excluding his time at City, Hughes averages 1.47 points per game. Coyle averages 1.18.

Silly you, indeed.

Which brings us back to:

Which one is it? :conf:

Hughes would never, ever have come to Bolton because that move would never, ever have allowed him the opportunity of staking his claim for his football management nirvana- replacing the Govan one at MUFC.
spending shed loads of cash at QPR to get them in to the top half/challenging for Europe was a much more likely avenue.
good to see he is (thus far) making an arse of it.

I answered that. :conf:

He's the better Manager.

Let's compare a 10? game run at QPR and pretend that Hughes has no track record. Yeah that works. :D

Let's do that.

Don't forget the arguably much better squad, certainly more expensive, and the £15 million spent when he came in - none of which he'd have at Bolton.

The saviour.

You don't think Hughes has a much better record than Coyle in the Prem? (Keep City out of the equation for a while. :-) )

Anyway, best thing about that 'decision' was it denied Clint Hill his first ever Prem goal. Dirty Tranmere. Dirty.

Did I hear right in that some bookies are still paying out for Clint Hill in the first goal/any time markets?? Doesn't sound like sumat them penny pinchers would usually do. Saying that there cant have been that much money riding on it...

excluding the games that he's lost or drawn, Coyle has a career average of 3pts per game... so ner!

he damaged those prospects a million times more than managing bolton ever would by taking the city job x years ago.

his choice of agent probably does more harm to that, too. possibly.
