Given that the chances of N'Gog ever getting on the end of one of his crosses is around about 0, there's not much point in Petrov playing.
What ever makes you think Klasnic would get on them either Tom? being he's at least a yard slower

i think his implication of klasnic getting on the end of a cross is goalscoring intent and ability

dont get me wrong given time or space ngog will score but this is the prem and were not playing well enough to give him time and space

i second the get ngog and klasnic working together they seem to me the most threatening pairing regardless of if its a front 2 or playing ngog wider/deeper

gotta say

miyachi klasnic ngog

looks like a frontline that would struggle not to score

Nothing, although he did score from a Petrov cross against City. I wouldn't play Petrov. His strength is getting down the line and crossing the ball in. How many headed goals are going to come from N'Gog, Miyachi, Klasnic, Mark Davies, NRC or Muamba? Not many. So why bother?

positioning is more of a factor than pace when the balls being crossed to be honest

a goalscorer like klasnic will find space or get infront of his marker making time

I'm not sure we can't get away with playing Klasnic up top on his own, providing it was the can be arsed to run point to prove Klas. I like N'Gog, but when he plays we treat him as KDII and tw*t it up to him, and for some reason nobody has ever told him he is allowed to use his fecking head. Tries to chest EVERYTHING. We look miles better when we get it down and get the full backs forward. Klas' link up play on the deck is better than any of our other strikers.

I wouldn't play him against the bigger teams, where we need N'Gog's work rate, and physical presence, but I think it is worth a shot against teams we are likely to have the ball against. Mark Davies and Klas on the same wavelength as well.

I can see that to some extent.

For Petrov's crosses, Klas would need to position himself three yards to the left hand side of the goal post on the byline, and wait for the ball at about knee height. Alternatively about 20 yards past the right hand post on the byline would enable him to get a great view of it going out of play for a goal kick.

Messi would struggle to get it in from either position.

Speaking of Ivan, are we all assuming his "up yours" arm gestures and mouthing off after scoring were aimed in OC's direction?

No assumption

Klasnic can't stand Coyle

Dunno that it's Coyles fault, but there is definitely bad blood

I think Klasnic expects to play 90 mins. He looks shite when he does though. He's a great "super-sub" so I'd leave him on the bench.

I don't think Klasnic expects to play 90 minutes. But, I think he expects to play more than 3 minutes per month.

Perhaps it was the kick up the arse he needed though?

I seem to recall, before he was dropped into the pit of oblivion, that everybody on here was praising him for how much effort he'd been putting in. A couple of us said at the time that that wasn't probably the best return from Ivan, that we'd have preferred goals over effort.
Seems to me that his face doesn't fit, rather than any need to give him a kick up the arse.

[I'll declare my interest: I think Klasnic should be Bolton's main striker, given the team we've got]

I think its another mistake Coyle has made is not giving Ngog and Klasnic a run out together. He played SKD and Ngog together, and SKD and Klasnic a few times, but Klasnic hasn't had a chance to partner Ngog which I believe has potential to be an exciting partnership
