Spurs fan here. I was watching when it happened, and won't be able to get that image out of my head for a long time. You only have to browse our forums to see what impact this has had on Spurs fans, and like many others, I just wanted to share my best wishes and prayers that Fab pulls through this.

Spurs fan here, but that hardly feels relevant at the moment. Tonight we were just 35,000 people watching on helplessly as a young man was fighting for his life just yards away from where we stood. All willing him to pull through, desperately hoping for any movement or sign that he was going to be ok.

Words can't adequately describe the feeling during those awful minutes when Fabrice was lying on the pitch. Some of those around me were crying, some praying. We chanted his name, we cheered and clapped the medical staff because that's all we could do for him.

You could almost have heard a pin drop on the crowded platform at White Hart Lane station afterwards, and on the train journey back up to Enfield the only talk was of updates on Fab's condition being shared around the carriage.

I think I echo the sentiments of all who were there when I say that we turned up to the game tonight talking about our chances of winning the cup and holding on to 3rd place in the league but by the time we arrived back home a few hours later we all knew we would happily swap every victory, every point, for news that Fabrice is going to pull through.

Thoughts and prayers with Fabrice, his family and all the players, staff and fans at BWFC.

We're all Wanderers tonight.

Hope he continues to improve in hospital, I live in Australia and didn't stay up to watch the match as I had work this morning and I just got home now. Sad to hear about it - cummon Fabrice - you can do it! All the best mate.

Spurs Fan.

I was working today, and wasn't able to get to the game.

I couldn't believe what I was hearing, from text updates from mates at the game.

With the utmost, true respect to Bolton Wanderers fan, we're all "Wanderers" today!!

Sometimes we all take that kicking a piece of leather on a field of grass too seriously. Football's a community. We all live and love the same passion.

The most sincere thoughts and prayers to Muamba and his family, and respect, hope, and admiration to every Bolton fan.

I'll leave you with this amazing Al Pacino clip. Sport is, just sport.....thats all it is....its the bonds you build that make it what it is!!!

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WO4tIrjBDkk" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; Al Pacino....half time team talk ...talking about how it isnt about the sport...its about who you are and you're teamwork!!! Best clip I've ever seen!!!

Thousands of Spurs fans behind Muamba and Bolton Wanderers tonight....and hundreds of thousands of every football fan in the country behind you guys too!!!

Like I said....RESPECT to every Bolton fan and supporter!!! We'll be thinking of you!, and we'll support you all, all the way!! I know I speak for Spurs fans when I say we'll never forget this day!!!

After playing vets football, I was driving back from the ground, heard this on the radio,
got in, put on ESPN and have been in shock ever since.

All I can say, I wish him the very best, as of this moment the poor lad is still in intensive care,
I'm sure i've read somewhere that the next 24 hrs are the really important ones.

Hoping for the best, proud to be a football fan

Fab has so much to pull through for. So much more important. But one thing certainly is to see the unbelievable amount of support from around the world - not just the footballing world. The well wishes have been truly remarkable.

'the beautiful game'.

Come on Fab. Awoken before 7am on a Sunday with a sickly feeling. I just had to get an update. No news as yet. We all continue to pray for you Moo!

Touched by the words from all across the football family, both fans, players and staff:

Both sets of fans chanted the player's name as he was being treated on the pitch and Tottenham forward Rafael van der Vaart and Muamba's team-mate Tuncay Sanli both prayed for the former Arsenal player.

Footballers have taken to Twitter to express their support and wish the midfielder well.

"Praying for you Fab. Hope he's OK. Thoughts with him and his family. For all those asking, I know as much as you do. Waiting anxiously for updates from teammates. Fab is a fighter!" - Bolton midfielder Stuart Holden

"Terrible what happened with Muamba during the game. We're all praying for him." - Tottenham playmaker Van der Vaart

"I seriously hope my best friend in football is OK. Stay strong bro please please stay strong. God is with you remember that." - Middlesbrough defender Justin Hoyte, who came through the Arsenal youth system with Muamba.

"Pray for Fab. God willing he will pull through." - Tottenham striker Jermain Defoe

"All our hearts with Fabrice Muamba, one of my closest friends at Bolton. I'm shocked, wishing him a fast recovery." - Wigan's former Bolton goalkeeper Ali Al Habsi

"Hope Fabrice Muamba is OK. Praying for him and his family. Still in shock." - Manchester United striker Wayne Rooney

"My thoughts are with Fabrice Muamba's family. We all are praying for him and hope for a speedy recovery." - Tottenham striker Emmanuel Adebayor

"Doesn't matter who you support. Doesn't matter if you aren't a football fan. Doesn't matter if you aren't religious. Pray for Fabrice Muamba." - Tottenham defender Kyle Walker

"I'm so sad about what happened to Fabrice Muamba today. Played with him for a couple of years. What a great guy. Always a smile on his face. Please Fabrice bring that smile back. My thoughts are with you and your lovely family!" - Arsenal captain Robin van Persie

"Spurs vs Bolton means nothing! FA Cup means nothing! Football means nothing! Right now Fabrice Muamba is everything!! #PrayForMuamba" - Liverpool striker Andy Carroll

"My thoughts are with Fabrice and his family. Stay strong mate. Our prayers are with you." - Barcelona's former Arsenal captain Cesc Fabregas

"Unbelievable what happened today!! Fabrice Muamba my thoughts are with you and your family. I will keep praying and hope you will be ok!!!" - Liverpool forward Dirk Kuyt

The Football Association also took to Twitter to release a short statement, which read: "Our thoughts and prayers are with Fabrice Muamba and his family right now. A wonderful person."

Have only just brought myself round to reading the forum today, thought it would set me off. It has, but it's so very touching having fans from all over the world taking the time to pass on their messages of support.

Had a strange numb feeling since it happened, even though I don't personally know they guy.

Couldn't give 2 shits if he doesn't play for us again, as long as he survives this and gets to see his child grow up.

thanks - all of you!
