Re: The Match Against Blackburn Rovers
I suppose I get the sentiment - but it hasn't affected my desire for Bolton to win stuff and not get relegated!! I DO still care if we lose to Blackburn on Saturday!Beefheart wrote:If the Blackburn match goes ahead, fine. If we call it off, fine. If we carry on with the Cup, fine. If we pull out, fine.
my guess is that football is how the players express themselves best - and that's ultimately what they are gonna want to do... they are gonna have to "get back on the bike" - and I'd be staggered if that's not what moo wants them to do...
Re: The Match Against Blackburn Rovers
And again
If Coyle is still in London?
Lets leave all this stuff to the club
They've done exactly as I would've hoped and expected so far
I see no reason to start even thinking about questioning them at this time

I don't think anyone is questioning the club - are they?
Re: The Match Against Blackburn Rovers
apparently we're planning to go ahead with it and the final decision will be in the next 24 hours

I don't think anybody would really disagree with anything. Like I said earlier, nerves have been really near the surface in one of the lousiest football weeks I can remember. I think we all just want it to be over. If Muamba makes a full recovery, then nothing else really matters and we'll all move on.CAPSLOCK wrote:Ermm, whenever folk start saying this is what we should do, it aint a massive leap

Re: The Match Against Blackburn Rovers
Us playing or not against Blackburn will not affect one iota the speed and nature of Fabrice Muamba's recovery. Thats all that matters. Play on.
You can judge the whole world on the sparkle that you think it lacks.

Re: The Match Against Blackburn Rovers
I wasn't questioning the club, merely giving an opinion. The lads very poorly and it was a shock but thank God he aint dead and life goes on. Everyone has different ways of dealing with these things and I know this may be a bit rich from me, we should avoid a massive over reaction that seems to be popular in all walks of life now.CAPSLOCK wrote:Ermm, whenever folk start saying this is what we should do, it aint a massive leap

Right now? Obviously ultimately that will change and you're right that we have to play at some point. If Coyle feels that should be this weekend, then great, if he feels its too soon for the players then fine we'll start at Wolves, or wherever.

See, I don't agree.BWFC_Insane wrote: Right now? I couldn't care less if we didn't play another game this season.
Of course, Muamba getting better is the priority. But I'm a Bolton supporter and I want us to win. This weekend is no different. I want us to stay in the Premier League. I'm sure Fabrice does too.

Snap out of it man sh*t happens everyday, the lads slowly improving, it was a shock but now we got to head for normality. It don't mean we don't wish a long happy life to Fabrice and his family but being totally down in the dumps won't make a penny worth of difference.BWFC_Insane wrote:Right now? Re: The Match Against Blackburn Rovers
i agree, lets crack on...unless of course something happens to Fab over the next few days which means the players themselves would feel they cant play. Right now, if they cared like it seemed they do, they'll be on cloud fcking 9 that their friend is recovering and anxious to get out there and give him even more to smile about.

Neither does Owen Coyle or PG being by his bedLord Kangana wrote:Us playing or not against Blackburn will not affect one iota the speed and nature of Fabrice Muamba's recovery
But thats what they've been doing
If those two stay down there til weekend and then don't feel up to a match on Saturday, do we still go ahead

Caps would you expect your bosses to be at your bedside every day? London is hardly LA is it? You could easy take it in turns to visit a couple of times this week if you had too.CAPSLOCK wrote:Neither does Owen Coyle or PG being by his bedLord Kangana wrote:Us playing or not against Blackburn will not affect one iota the speed and nature of Fabrice Muamba's recovery

Nothing to snap out of. I'm overjoyed that Fab is recovering when I feared the very worst. I feel like some sort of miracle has occurred, in a way. The medical staff obviously are miracle workers themselves.Hoboh wrote:Snap out of it man sh*t happens everyday, the lads slowly improving, it was a shock but now we got to head for normality. I accept that we are a football club and that is what we do, and that we will need to get back on the bandwagon sooner or later. But personally at this time I just don't care about about football, as I say thats going to change but to me it does seem all a bit unimportant in the grand scheme of things. Happy if we play Saturday though, if thats what is deemed right by the club. I'll be there.

Re: The Match Against Blackburn Rovers
I guess no one really knows except for those close to Fabrice as well as Coyle, Gartside etc. but has there been any word, official or from those ITK about any long term effects on Fabrice?
It all seems quite irrelevant at the current time but the lad is a professional footballer, and a bloody good one at that, so I just wondered if there had been any murmurings from medical professionals and the like whether the lad will ever play again (and the potential stresses such action could cause). I must reiterate that although it seems a matter of such little importance in the short term but it was the mans career and the incident at Tottenham must have thrown a real curve ball into the next 10+ years of what could, and hopefully still might, be a fantastic career.

Re: The Match Against Blackburn Rovers
I don't mind what decision the Club feels is the correct one, any my sympathies are entirely with Moo (and to a large extent the players). That said, there's occasions we've probably all lost someone at work - even occasionally whilst in work. And as others have said the show goes on.
If it's on, I'll turn up as planned, if it isn't I'll do something else.

Re: The Match Against Blackburn Rovers
Maybe I'm just hard hearted, but I think the football should go on. I agree it was absolutely right that the quarter final was abandoned. I agree that it was probably right that the Villa match was postponed. I hope Moo well. But the football should go on. If OC and PG are still by his bed, fine, let somebody else take charge. A neighbour and friend of mine died of a heart attack at the age of 42, and he had a big send off. He was a bus driver, but nobody cancelled the buses (or even thought of it).
As I say, I might be hard hearted, but Moo is on the mend and all good wishes to him, but get on with the footie.
