Fancy being in the BWFC programme?

Post by Hannah » Tue Mar 20, 2012 9:35 am

Hello all.

Firstly, I just want to let you know that my thoughts are with you as a club and I am rooting for Fabrice Muamba to pull through and make a full recovery.

Now - I need some willing volunteers!

I'm working for the Bolton programme and need some volunteers who fancy being featured as part of the 'Supporters' Stories' page in the programme.

It's all about sharing your favourite memories as a Bolton fan, whether it's a special game, a great player performance, a special family/friends moment or something inspiring from a manger past or present.

If this appeals to you, let me know below!

Is there a deadline, Hannah, or is it an ongoing thing?
May the bridges I burn light your way

It's an ongoing thing and yes, I would need a picture of you.

The Blackburn programme is done (even if the game itself doesn't go ahead) so I'm looking at Fulham, Spurs, Swansea and West Brom.

If you have great memories of games against these teams before, that would tie in very nicely, but it's not essential!

Div 2 8th April 1978
Spurs 1-0 Bolton (D.McAllister)
Attendance 50,097

Good days (although we lost to you in the FA Cup 3rd round that season!)
I don't want to start any blasphemous rumours but i think that God's got a sick sense of humour and when i die i expect to find him laughing

You're older than I thought :D

Didn't we do you 1-0 at our place that season? Roy Greaves on the volley?

It was certainly 1-0 to you lot. No idea who the scorer was though!

I was in the 34260 crowd........

FA cup 3rd round drew 2-2 at ours (43.7k in attendance)
Lost the replay 2-1 (i wasn't at that one though!)

Aye, it will have been the Greaves goal game. Weren't we top two? Some games just live in the memory (despite me being 12 at the time), Spurs were playing in yellow (though I can't remember where I was this time last week :conf: )

We came Third behind you & Saints & only beat Brighton in the promotion race on goal difference (or was it average then?) after playing out the dodgiest 0-0 draw ever away at the Dell.

I am constantly amazed by people who remember such stuff. Spurs playing in yellow!!! 1978!!!!!!!!!!
I can just about, usually, remember who scored in the last game I went to (unless I conflate some of the games on MOTD in my mind), and almost always know where it was at. But otherwise they all just blur together. Even worse, I get 'false' memories - I can "see" Dalglish scoring in the World Cup final between Vasco de Gama and Liverpool in Japan in 1981 [yes, I was there living in Japan at the time] only to find when I look it up that Liverpool were playing Flamenco and they lost 3-0.
So more power to you people with memories. 8)

Handing thread back to those who can remember what it's about

You've decided the date, now you just need to see who's playing? :conf:

My best moment was the sacking of Gareth.

Please can that be printed?

That Hull game... horrible match. However, the morning the news came, everyone seemed to walking round Bolton with a grin on their face.
Beating Burnley on Coyle's first match was pretty priceless to be honest.
I'd have to think long and hard about my best moment though...

Same here. Depends on the game though, and the seats. Would love to be able to remember certain games and completely erase others :)
The players you fail to sign never lose you any money.
