I have tied the cookies and the crunchie bar to a car moving at a steady running pace - just heading out past the post office...Gooner Girl wrote:You know how to please a girl!thebish wrote:I've scoffed the pastie hun - but I have some huge chocolate chip cookies and some crunchie bars for pudding!Gooner Girl wrote:thebish wrote:I just saw freddie Ljungberg running half naked past the Common... if you run fast you might catch him - I think he was doing a charity 5K circuit... Well thats no fun! I personally fancied a little sunbathe on the village common in my bikini, far less energetic!thebish wrote:

I thought you were asking for running motivation! (but you hadn't mentioned the bikini! I have caught the car and regained possession of the cookies and crunchies.. and am now by the swings on the green...)Gooner Girl wrote:Well thats no fun! This all may have gone slightly off topic. I blame YOU, Bish.

New PB on the parkrun by a whole second
29:36
Made the catastrophic error of setting off with the gazelles and seriously struggled to get my act together after that.
Still - I completed it.

Great stuff Bruce. A PB is a PB! I did it today too, not sure I would have recognised you but sorry for not saying helloBruce Rioja wrote:New PB on the parkrun by a whole second29:36

I had a similar experience to you, set off at a good pace but my breathing went a bit off at the end of lap 1 and I struggled to get back into a rhythm. Really surprised to see I did a PB of 21.37. Despite it being surprisingly hot this morning it seemed to be some kind of record for PBs today.

Was looking round for you, Fella, but it's been a long time. I was the one getting overtaken by everyone

Well done Bruce
I marshalled a parkrun today. Was really enjoyable actually and everyone is really thankful at the end.
Just done my own 5k now. Slow jogs interrupted with 5 200m sprints. Lovely stuff.
I've been a bit up and down in recent weeks, so I'm just wanting to get back into the stride of things. think I can still crack 4 hours, but for now I just want to run with a smile on my face.

Re: The athletics/running thread
Just got back from an 18 mile run over Holcombe Moor in an event organised by the LDWA. I dont know if it was the heat (it is still March isn't it?), poor fuelling or neighbours kicking off last night and keeping me awake, but by God I struggled. I would have started walking at one point if it hadn't been for my running buddy egging me on.

Re: The athletics/running thread
I did 15.5 yesterday HG. It started getting really warm at about 10 miles. Fortunately I was only doing 9 minute mile pace. I did it in 2 hrs 12 minutes though which I was pleased with. What was your pace / time? It'll give me an idea of how much I'm going to regret inviting you to run with me.Harry Genshaw wrote:Just got back from an 18 mile run over Holcombe Moor in an event organised by the LDWA. Re: The athletics/running thread
One of my mates from the club running London did 24 miles training today in 2.54. Described it as 'nice and steady' would take me nearly 3 days to run 24 miles not nearly 3 hours.
