To be fair Ricketts is a right back who has been filling in at left back.Bruce Rioja wrote:I'm telling you - Owen Coyle watches a different game to me. I imagine Steinsson is ill or injured. He did pick up a knock against Blackburn, perhaps he's still struggling?
I don't understand the system but I suppose he felt playing a young kid or someone out of position was a bigger risk.....I dont think many would agree with him and no doubt we will lose.
But it's less criminal a selection than doing it when we had a fit Muamba and Pratley....

Not meaning to sound like i'm having a go but we don't have many other options....Espescially at right/left back.
I'd have played Boyata at RB rather than move Rickets, Alonso was terrible the other night at least Boyata was decent (ish).

Re: Away at Wolves
No worries - didn't know Steinner was I'll, but that young shaver from the rezzies seemed to do quite well when I've seen him. Spurs targeted Alonso the other night like it was Robinson playing there. Also, Klasnic wouldn't be on - I'd play Tuncay behind N'Gog.pagey_BWFC wrote:Steinsson is out ill, so who would you play at right back if you don't want to shift Ricketts?Bruce Rioja wrote:I'm telling you - Owen Coyle watches a different game to me. Norwich away was ample testimony as to why we should never switch to 4-4-2 with the current group.

That's really odd. I'd have bet on him at least on the bench.Turkish Trotter wrote:jmjhb wrote:Where's Steinsson?

Boyata was at his natural position of centre back that game. Anytime Boyata has been at RB this season he has been terrible.Turkish Trotter wrote:pagey_BWFC wrote:Steinsson is out ill, so who would you play at right back if you don't want to shift Ricketts? Also who would u stick in instead of Klasnic?Bruce Rioja wrote:I'm telling you - Owen Coyle watches a different game to me. I can recall knocking 5 past Wolves. A while back I'll admit..but...Turkish Trotter wrote:TANGODANCER wrote:Or just maybe have one of those mad days when we knock six in?BWFC_Insane wrote:Oh FFS...........we will now!Jokers in White wrote:I can't see us losing this, if Vela starts then good luck to the lad but i can't get my head around that he won't consider Tuncay in a central midfield slot. Cannot recall the last mad day we knocked 6 in.

Re: Away at Wolves
To be fair, dire as he was against Tottenham, Alonso was doing very well before his injury. Assuming Steinnson is indeed ill, the only question for me is why no Tuncay.

Re: Away at Wolves
A capable link man, Klasnic played off Ngog in the 4-2-3-1 that won at Blackburn.
He also scored the winner against QPR when running from deep.
He isn't a midfield runner but if he doesn't play right up top this is really not far off the recent default system.
Remind me, cos I've honestly forgotten: the 4-4-2s against Wigan and Norwich, didn't they involve SKD rather than Klas? That's a proper two-up-top.
I just hope we're strong enough to win. "Must not lose"? Sorry, can't agree. If we can't aim to beat the league's worst team, then there's no point even being in the division.

Re: Away at Wolves
Just to put it out there as well i hate us playing 4-4-2. Just trying to get into Coyle's way of thinking. Mind you he was probably just waiting for an excuse to go back to this formation.
Riley's a good call for RB, had forgotten about him. Seems he is back on the outer a bit though, with him not getting a game against Spurs or being on the bench the last few weeks.

I don't see us winning this, Wolves may be bottom but they're only 4 points behind us and took a point from us at home.
Hopefully though we'll get something

I hopeTuncay is injured otherwise this is more coyle madness. At least he resisted Knight. Ream will need to be helping alonso but at least with ricketts on the right we have pace on both sides of defense. Not sure about klasnic starting or NGog trying to play as a partner but hey ho. Looks like shit or bust time again! Get everything crossed

Alonso quick?! He might have a Spanish name and shiny boots, but quick he is not.
