Ain't it the truth. Doesn't seem that long ago that Everton were the team on Merseyside and Liverpool were rooting around in the then Second Division, local derbies were against Bury, Oldham, and Rochdale and some of the best games ever seen were against Crewe, Port Vale, Barnsley, Preston and Reading etc. How we looked forward to booing Andy Ritchie, Steve Bull and anybody in a Tranmere shirt. Happy days.
Happy days, yes.

But we aspired to something better, always.

Anyone who thinks we should be there to accept anything less than "the best that we can be" - which for me is being a Premiership team, misses the point.

The WHOLE point about sport is being better than whatever team/person your up against and being the best. If it isn't, I don't understand the point of sport at all...a bit like Tracey Emin.

I'm a fairly crap fan/supporter, but when I started following the Wanderers they were in the 3/4 tier and I'll still support them when they get back down there.

My problem right now is that I think the players we have are good and should be doing better than they are. And obviously, getting relegated would be bad for the club financially with huge debts already. Ultimately there's nothing I can do, so will just sit back and watch from the armchair/sofa/desk with occasional forays to the 'Bok.
The players you fail to sign never lose you any money.

F*ck you too. What exactly have I ever done to piss you off??? At least my money goes to the club, which is more than the stay-at-home-watch-Premiership-on-the-telly mob's does.

The reality though is a half full stadium of disgruntled fans, losing our best players, replacing them with inferior players (read younger players here). Fighting for promotion.

Also away trips to places like Barnsley lose appeal quickly. I remember going there with Sam as manager, we took about 200 fans. Was hardly thrilling either.

Going down could easily dissolve all the progress we've made over the last 11 seasons as a club. Very least it'll set us back quite a way.

Good God man.

You need to start a "I haven't even got a glass" thread. :)
They're dirty, they're filthy, they're never gonna last.

Coyle'll have smashed it with a wayward swing of the table tennis bat :)

Not sure how many of you have read this... It's over a year old, but a lot of what is said in it still applies.

It adds much to the 'half empty' approach.

Twas an ironic joke Axey. As was said earlier in the thread we get very few plastic fans because we're not fashionable enough
Pfffft.

Here's another safety tip. When doing the ironing put yourself, iron, ironing board etc. inside a playpen - way less chance of littly grabbing the iron lead and pulling it down on itself!

Or, put the child in the playpen?
