Bad combination......Turkish Trotter wrote:BWFC_Insane wrote:Is it bottle or ability we are missing?officer_dibble wrote:What feck me off the most is the fact that players (im looking at you mark davies) we need to be driving the game, grabbing it by the scruff of the neck, were visibly shying away from the ball. The team we have now, probably our best available xi with steinson back in, just does not have the bottle in my view.
I can take lack of ability, but there are footballers picking up a salary at our place who dont have the stomach for the fight. The utter spinelessness of yesterday is what hurts the most.
I would be picking the lies if Josh Vela over some of the fannys thst turned out yesterday, for the newcastle game. Send a message out. This is a battle...committed players only.
Not sure myself....
It's both as far as I'm concerned.

Actually if you think rationally (yes I know thats a bad idea) we were always likely to lose.Just ask yourself which of our players could make the Fulham team. I got as far as Bogdan,Ricketts and Ream then got stuck.

I don't even think that any of our players would get into the Fulham side - which is quite alarming.
Even more alarming though was how much better the Fulham players were individually than Bolton's, without even getting out of 2nd gear. They moved and passed the ball better & quicker, retained possession better & looked far more composed on the ball and their movement off the ball was superior to ours.
They played like a team, well coached, motivated & well organised - unfortunately we rarely do....

Re: Wanderers v Cottagers
up to 30 minutes in they looked as bad as each other
pitty- patty along the back four into midfield and back again. no penetration
cant remember if they had a chance of any note before the free kick.
after they scored pitty patty for them seemed more composed but was really nowt of the sort
after that it was the Alonso show

The problem was we didn't press them, they had all the time in the world to pick a pass and if you give good team's time on the ball they will annihilate you.

I think the trouble was we stopped pressing them. Early on I thought we did exactly that but as the game went on people started to shy away from that level of pressing.Jokers in White wrote:The problem was we didn't press them, they had all the time in the world to pick a pass and if you give good team's time on the ball they will annihilate you.

Holden and Chungy probably could, annoyinglyPeter Thompson wrote:I don't even think that any of our players would get into the Fulham side - which is quite alarming.
