The athletics/running thread

If you have a life outside of BWFC, then this is the place to tell us all about your toilet habits, and those bizarre fetishes.......

You're excused from running if you get off your arse and take your daughter swimming ;)

Training isn;'t really going to plan. Not running far enough or often enough.

Going to run home from work on Friday night which will count as an 18-miler. From that I'll hopefully be able to judge where I am in terms of time. Not that I care anymore.

You're doing London aren't you? You shouldn't be doing anything like an 18 miler. These last two weeks are about tapering in preparation for the 26.2

The furthest I've run is 18. I'm not going to kill myself trying to do more.

My plan for this fortnight is:

Tues 10th Gym followed by 3 miles fast (7.30 pace)
Thurs 12th 6 miles easy (9.00 pace)
Sat 14th 5 miles easy
Sun 15th 12 miles at race pace (8.30-8.45 pace)
Tues 17th Gym then 3 miles fast
Thurs 19th 4 miles easy
Sat 21st 2 miles easy

Nope, doing the Greater Manchester one which is the week after. :) hence I'm kinda seeing this weekend as the last chance for me to get proper distance in my legs before I start tapering.

Glad to hear you're back running again, and good luck.

Well I did 2.5 miles in 32 minutes last night

Half of it up the side of Everest (Red Lane and Arthur Lane to be precise)

I'm not sure I'll walk again
