not the first time you've posted slightly overdone scones in this thread Bruce!Bruce Rioja wrote:Looks like I 'caught' the egg glaze. Still, I was busy washing up whilst watching Philip Schofield and a blonde girl (which one is she? They all meld into one!)

blow your nose and scoff one in the 10sec taste window that you have...

Am doing Ultimate Toady. Sausages wrapped in bacon, covered in onions, then baked in my special toadyness. Yum. yum. and thrice, yum!

I'm roasting a chicken and doing new potatoes in the skins, cut in half and the cut side 'roasted' in a little olive oil. Is there a name for these?
Asparagus and peas to go with.
A dryish Muscadet has just been taken from fridge, and first - large - sip has put a smile on my face...

Me too... about half an hour ago... and initiated a discussion with friend about the particular fragrance of asparagus urine... He agreed... In the end we both thought it was a shame that so few veg had this effect... what might the sweet potato urine smell like, for instance, given its so attractive name... or that from barley wine... or curly leaf parsley mixed with sardine... that we reckoned might be marketed as Pungent Pour L'homme...thebish wrote:have just had a wee...

Saffron makes your piss stink like saffron.
Which is great if you like saffron.

Gonna give this a whirl, minus the dorito's and cheese, plus a little stock. Got a McWilliam's Markview Shiraz (Australian) half price at £4.49 from Tesco, some to add and the rest to sup later.Bijou Bob wrote:It was great to see you mate. You'll have to come down on the train next time though.Bijou Bob wrote:Tonight, it's a personal favourite; butter bean, pork fillet and chorizo stew followed by Sicilian lemon cheesecake. Oh yes![]()
Half pound of pork fillet cut into pieces and browned off, 1 chorizo sausage cut into 1 cm sections. Fry 1 large onion with 2 cloves of garlic until golden brown, adding in a tablespoon of smoked paprika and some fresh coriander. Add in the meat plus 2 tins of butter or canellini beans plus a good glug of red wine. Bang in oven for an hour or until pork fillet is soft. Spread a couple of dozen dorito's on the top, sprinkle liberally with mature chedddar and return to oven for 5 minutes.. Done! Serve with crusty bread or rice.
Sicilian lemon cheesecake: Walk to Lidl, dodge asylum seekers, assorted riff raff and embarrassed looking middle class people searching for bargains and spend £2.99. Defrost.

Saffron's wasted on me. I can't tell whether it's in there or it isn't.William the White wrote:I like saffron...Lord Kangana wrote:Saffron makes your piss stink like saffron.
