We've used all of our luck this season IMO, and I've given up hope. We're not good enough to stay in this division, our defending has cost us even more than our woeful 'strike force', Steinsson constantly backing off an attacking player encouraging them to shoot, we've seen it numerous times this season from numerous players and we deserve everything we get.
Ngog is shit scared of having a shot, Kevin Davies can't even get anywhere near to being able to have a shot and Klasnic will only have a shot if it's put on a fecking plate for him with no-one in a 15 mile radius of him. The team is crying out for Sordell, and I say that even as we've seen feck all from him, because the other three 'strikers' offer nothing. What harm can putting him on do to our chances as the other three don't do anything anyway?
Ryo for all I'm concerned can piss off back to Arsenal. He's crap. All these 15 year old boys that come on here raving about how brilliant he is need to get a reality check and need to stop thinking he's another Lee Chung Yong, because he's not. He's not fit to lace Lee's boots. He's absolutely no chance of being picked by Wenger ahead of Chamberlain. He even makes Walcott look like a complete player.
Mark Davies, done jack shit in the last few games, think he's getting complacent, but what can we do, we've no one else!
Ream, shit game, got turned too easily by crap players.
I've got tickets for every game left this season and I'm going to every one with no expectation at all.
Pretty much where im at now

Agree with this - but we also lack a manager who has any tactical ability and knows how to organise & set up a team, for a relatively young manager Coyle's managerial style belongs in the 70's.bobo the clown wrote:The biggest thing we lack is drive.

We are without doubt a disorganised & unfit side - I really do get the feeling that they don't train properly in terms of fitness levels & tactics, its been said before but we really do play like a team of individuals who get told to just 'go out & play', for a premiership side our ability to keep the ball, our passing (long & short) & movement off the ball is shambolic.

Dunno. But since you spend every season knocking us it's immaterial really.Peter Thompson wrote: How many of Swansea's team would have got into ours at the start of the season -

If we lose or draw most people think we're well and truly domed. This seasons no different.
AS a sidenote. Any other time during this season i'd've probably been happy with a draw at home against Swansea given the way they've been playing all season.

Its not though is it - they have a manager who obviously knows what he's doing, he has a system & style that he wants to play and he brought in players who suited that system & style. Most of the players he brought in were not wanted by many of the other prem teams, but obviously fitted in with his plan, and they didn't cost a great deal - but he's got them playing decent football, almost everyone of their players looked more comfortable on the ball than ours, they could all pass better and they played with more energy & tempo - and more importantly they looked organised & motivated.TANGODANCER wrote:Dunno. Unlike Coyle who simply doesn't have a clue what system to play, what tactics or style of football he wants and continually plays players out of position (square pegs in round holes).

Yeah but when you draw with 3 weeks left and 4 points from safety it's not a good thingMar wrote:If we lose or draw most people think we're well and truly domed. This seasons no different.

Three positive thoughts. (1) We got a draw when we didn't deserve one. (2) a couple of months back we'd have buckled under that pressure and lost 3-1; (3) For once, I think OC got something right - Eagles playing where Pratley (supposedly) plays was a success - ran himself into the ground, scored one (and almost stole us a winner) and even got some tackles in.
IF we can find three points in our next three games, (that's three points altogether) then beat WBA, we might still be able to go to Stoke with something to play for - long shot, but it ain't all over yet.
Right, that's me drained of positivity for the rest of the year. Anybody else want to give it a go?

Those 3 points are the ones I made on way back to car yesterday. Surely something to hold on to.EverSoYouri wrote:Three positive thoughts. (1) We got a draw when we didn't deserve one. We need a video message from Fabrice to the rest of the team to inspire them for the battle ahead, if he can do that for The Sun then he can surely do that for the lads too.

Re: Wanderers v Swans
Can anyone explain the logic behind playing Eagles on the left and then Petrov on the right for the last 20 mins or so? Everytime the ball went to them the move lost momentum. Constantly checking inside allowing defenders to get back. I know Eagles scored the goal but he is a fecking terrible player.
And I was impressed by their movement, they seemed to have runners all over the park. I wish St. Owen would instruct our full backs to support and make over lapping runs sometimes. Their fullbacks worked so hard. Even though the ball didn't end up to them it creates so much space for the wingers and midfielders to move into. Got to say their no 42 and 24 were reallly impressive too. Mind you we gave them the freedom of the Reebok.

Coyle moving the two wingers - after the Jap crying out for a shot on the left for weeks - and leaving them there for the remainder of the game despite it being clear after 5 it wasn't working us yet more proof of the genius of the man. Tactical genius

Yep. It allowed petrov to hit row z of the north stand. Kept Swansea from attacking and secured us a valuable point.
Re: Wanderers v Swans
I don't think fecking terrible but just Championship, and bought as backup. Unfortunately we've had him playing all year and despite many faults including brainfarts, being too casual and being a complete pansy he's still more likely to be involved in a goal than anyone else. Apart from his goal he had the chance where we came closest to a second. Also he had the best chance we had of his own making up at Newcastle. This sums it up perhaps.Dr.Karl wrote:I know Eagles scored the goal but he is a fecking terrible player.

Yesterday was a chilling example of a thoughtful progressive young manager with a clear philosophy, and Owen's mixed up one. We didn't even press their goal kicks until 15-20 minutes in when someone on the bench (or pitch) realised it might be a decent idea to make Vorm kick it long.
How a team can play with Mark Davies, Petrov, Myaichi and Eagles and have warhorse 35yo Kevin Davies play as the leader of this pack of light footed midfielders is beyond me. Nolan and Stelios with the ability to score 10 goals a season themselves from various knock downs, set pieces and a 28 year old Davies - OK, but with this lot we need some speed, movement and workrate up front to help create some space and for his faults in front of goal N'gog provides this every week.
Also Ryo's either been totally found out already by the opposition scouts or he's lost confidence.

Wouldn't mind with the goal kicks thing, but they realised it after a bit in the cup game. Did they suddenly forget?

Re: Wanderers v Swans
If anyone was in any doubt how poorly managed and organised we are, the first twenty minutes of the game against Swansea are concrete proof.
We started clearly by instruction retreating into our own half whenever Swansea were in possession, even their keeper. KD went so deep at times he was our holding midfield player. We let their centre halves have the ball unchallenged. This made it easy for Swansea to slip into their passing game and we struggled as once they got going we didn't have the midfield to stop them.
It clearly wasn't working and wasn't the right way to set up.
So then for 10 minutes or so when they had the ball at the back, Davies and Eagles split to pick up the centre backs and we pushed higher up the pitch. This worked but then second half we inexplicably stopped doing it, and stopped closing the keeper down.
It was a complete shambles. And you only had to watch Swansea to see how it should be done. They squeezed up as a team, behind Graham who hared off to close Bogdan down every single time.
