Re: Villa Away.
Villa seem to be seeing this game as a “massive”.Well, chaps, surprise, surprise, so are we. It’s a life-or-death massive one for us.
Not too much confidence from the home-boys, if their web-sites are anything to go by, and “Big Eck” definitely isn’t the ice-cream flavour of choice right now down there. They really are playing the game up as their most important for a long time. Not a really wrong description either way and it’s a must-win for us without a doubt. Like us they have players out, although rumours that OC is actually considering donning his boots are just a tad worrying. The possible line up for Villa - although there are rumours they’ve had a day trip to Lourdes today - seems to be:
Given-------------------
Hutton-Cuellar-Baker-Lichaj------
N'Zogbia-Gardner-Herd-Carruthers
Ireland-----Weimann
For us, it’s looking like:
Bogdan.
Two fat men with flags- Wheater -Ream
Tea lady, Reo-Coker- Owen Coyle –Vela
Any two from K.Davies, Ngog, Klasnic and Sordell (subject to no ping-pong injuries sustained today).
Applications for the subs bench are being considered from several Combination sides and a hologram of Chung Yong Lee will appear occasionally to baffle everybody. Not sure this is a good idea as our lads will surely pass the ball to it.
So then, to it . Into the valley of death ride the five hundred (expected travellers) with all to play for and a big red “R” as a reminder of what it’s all about.
COME ON YOU WHITES.

But we will.

Re: Villa Away.
I'm as pessimistic as the next man and can only entertain certain oblivion tomorrow.
A Hutton goal early on then 80 odd minutes of nothing rounded off by two late goals.
I really REALLY hope I'm wrong but we're drowning aren't we?
I've got to work tomorrow night. How will I be able to concentrate while the apocolypse is occuring?
Come on Bolton for feck* sake come on.

I'm not asking you to 'think outside the box' I just wish you'd have a rummage around in it once in a while.

Re: Villa Away.
I mean, really, if we can't beat a team with Stephen Ireland playing up front...
Have been unable to work for worrying about it. Have reorganised the entire FourFourTwo library into sections. If I'm like this tomorrow I might start alphabetising the bugger.

Re: Villa Away.
If Pratley and Mark Davies remain unavailable, we might get both in the ever-popular 4-4-2 format.Mar wrote:The inclusion was down to the contribution of Davies instead of N'Gog. Re: Villa Away.
Probably the only way to go, considering the 'options'

Re: Villa Away.
Difficult to say, BB, without knowing how injured MD & DP are. I do know that we've been f*cking awful almost every time we've played 4-4-2 with fully-grown men, let alone an 18-year-old with two minutes' experience.boltonboris wrote:Probably the only way to go, considering the 'options'

Well, we can discard Tuncay. He's gone back to Germany.

Re: Villa Away.
If Tuncay's gone and those two are out we have literally no other choice than to change formation. It means we literally have two centre mids and two wingers (counting Vela) unless we're giving another youth player a start.boltonboris wrote:Well, we can discard Tuncay. He's gone back to Germany.
Re: Villa Away.
Not really. Vela in for MD straight swap. I'd rather have Eagles in there than leave Vela and NRC exposed as a two. Get Chungy on the bench. I'm not even joking.

Re: Villa Away.
Judging by Nixon tweets, Davies and Pratley almost certainly out tomorrow. He describes their chances of playing as 'not good' and 'bad' respectively!

Re: Villa Away.
At the moment it's Jussi, Lainton, two strikers, Fred Barber, OC and the biggest of the cheer-leader girls. Tony Kelly was also seen struggling desperately to get into a pair of lycra shorts.Prufrock wrote:Not really. Vela in for MD straight swap. Re: Villa Away.
Theres always the option to play Ream in midfield again and bring Zat Knight back in. Not a very good option but, we don't seem to have many options.
Re: Villa Away.
Who is gonna play on the wing if Ryo is out though?Prufrock wrote:Not really. Vela in for MD straight swap. I'd rather have Eagles in there than leave Vela and NRC exposed as a two. Get Chungy on the bench. I'm not even joking.
Edit: Realised it doesn't say on this thread but Coyle said Ryo has a knock so "those two" refered to M Davies and Ryo

Well, I think it might be... but you've been drinking in that saloon so long I'm not totally sure I trust your judgment...BWFC_Insane wrote:I'd not be shocked if we beat them, equally I'd not be shocked if we didn't.SmokinFrazier wrote:I've been extremely confident about this fixture for a while now. I know it's Bolton and you should probably not get too hopefuly but everything about this game is positive for me. Villa are struggling at the moment - seriously struggling. Remarkably, you can still get 14/1 that they'll go down, which is just baffling to me. I think we'll beat them and if we do, they will be well and truly in the relegation mix. A fanbase who loathe their inept manager, who got his last team relegated. Not only that, but his current Villa side are riddled with injuries.
We can beat them and I think we will. I'm never too optimistic being a Bolton fan but if we didn't win this game clearly, I'd be shocked. Only then would I think we're going down.
I think given Mark Davies is maybe out and Pratley deffo is, we're going to be struggling in midfield, well we are as it is even with those players....
For me it really is the absolute last chance saloon though!
