P.S In his brief 5 minute cameo Alonso looked more of a natural winger to me than he ever has a defensive minded player, winning 2 corners at such a crucial point of the game definitely did my grey hairs a world of good!

Spot on W.o.T. with Alonso, though the midfeild is the critical area most teams seem to walk through that's why our defenders seem to work that much harder than most, with the personnel at Coyles disposal can't see that changing. on an upside Petrov seems to be tracking back more lately.

Eagles looked like he went off with a hamstring strain, which is usually a couple of weeks out. Hoping Pratley has recovered by the weekend!

Having said that, Agbonlehor(sp?) was apparently at death's door and wouldn't play. He did. All managers have the "miracle" card up their sleeves, way of the world.

Had no idea what Davies went off with on Saturday, but Eagles' was clearly clutching his hammy. They aren't injuries that just heal in a couple of days, even slight strains. And if brought back too early can go again, only worse. Although its hardly time to be conservative!

Doubt he'd be ok for Sunderland unless it was real precautionary stuff, but as he felt it I'd have thought a week or so at least......

It's been the case since Robinson left and, I suspect, was never quite as bad as some people believe.

However, I was sitting close to a bunch last evening who were utterly anti the poor sod. Whatever he did, whenever, wherever they hurled abuse at him "lazy, bottler, useless, pointless, can't see why he's picked ... etc., etc."

I wonder about some of our fans, sometimes.

However, I was sitting close to a bunch last evening who were utterly anti the poor sod. Whatever he did, whenever, wherever they hurled abuse at him "lazy, bottler, useless, pointless, can't see why he's picked ... etc., etc."

I wonder about some of our fans, sometimes.

I sit near a guy at the reebok who just abuses wingers. Petrov is "lazy sod, get him off, why is he on? Can't tackle, mard..." etc and Eagles gets it as bad. I don't know who he wants us to play on the wings as he isn't a big Ryo fan either!

I think the tracking back is just since he's not been playing with Robbo. Robbo just sort of yelled at him, he looked angry and didn't seem to know what to do. Even at that Swansea game (before Gardner got sent off) he was so much better positionally because you could see he was being told where to stand and not being abused! I think he just needed a break from the abuse and a bit of help with what he was meant to be doing!

He's an awesome penalty taker. I'm nowhere near as nervous when he steps up as when Davies used to take them.

If the fans can't see any good in our own players, why bother supporting? The negative vibes must get at the players, and very few have escaped them this season. Who in the team (injured players not counted obviously) hasn't had a hard time? I'm struggling to think of just one. KD in particular has had a tough patch personally, yet risen above it and the present hero of the hour, not too long back, was a "stump, donkey, useless, past it, don't renew his contract" etc etc. Loss of form, bad patches etc, don't equate to rubbish and I'm sure the players must get affected by negativity.
