Re: Sunderland Away
I find it hard to believe no-one at the club asked Ream how he was getting along; if he needed anything. It goes both ways: the club should of course look after its players, but the players themselves should let the club know if they are struggling. I'm sure most of us have moved to new areas at some point in our life, and it is difficut at first. But rarely is there noone to talk to about it.Mar wrote:I hope we've not packed that in. After all if we're going to be spending £4m on a player and their wages simply hiring someone to show them around and feed them decent food or at least food they're familiar with should come at a pittance of the cost. Not only that but they can be there to give them someone to chat to.BWFC_Insane wrote:Under Allardyce we had a team of player liaison officers who had the job of looking after players in general, but importantly helping new ones settle.
They'd take them shopping (or do it for them), drive em round till they got their bearings and were on 24 hour call should any problems arise (Bet the one assigned to Diouf was happy.......)
Would be disappointed to be having players coming in from foreign countries and other clubs without at least being shown whats available to them over here.
Maybe one of the reasons Sturridge did so well up here is because he'd already been up north with Man City prior. Its not like he'd need to settle he's already having a great time reminiscing with friends he'd made up here.
As for Sunderland, lest we forget, I think we've a shot at them. Providing we can get a midfield out. Four points from the next two games probably needed, but I'd settle for 3.

Hello Mad marx. Nice to see you back for our annual north-east/north-west ding dong. Aye, we're in a bit of a sticky spot right now, but we'll get out of it if only to play you lot.

Thanks all , has it been 18 months?? Must be getting old time passing like thatTANGODANCER wrote:Hello Mad marx. Nice to see you back for our annual north-east/north-west ding dong. Aye, we're in a bit of a sticky spot right now, but we'll get out of it if only to play you lot.
... we are a bit unpredictable at present, seem to out work the good teams and sneak something on the counter but cant find a way to break down any one that does the same to us.
Your season has been a bit sad to observe, but it makes a change its usually our lot that are making me sad at this stage .
Could go either way to be fair on Saturday. If we get one sharp and get our tails up it will be a long day for you lot.If we labour again and just play as if its going to come you are in with a good shout.
Hope you all enjoy the day anyway and drink in the culture ( loads of drink and strippers mainly)

I have hope now. It is more frightening than despair.
My cousin is a mackem fan and he thinks despite recent results they're not playing too badly. We'll be doing well to win.
Hopefully SKD hasn't finished his renaissance.

Re: Sunderland Away
Were not playing badly, but we have had bad games where nothing passed over 10 yards finds a man ( Blackburn was a case in point) or every body seems to have just vacated the space the killer ball is played into . Add to that no cutting edge and it can be dire.Jakerbeef wrote:I have hope now. It is more frightening than despair.

Re: Sunderland Away
Oddly, as we were sooooo poor in the fist 45m at Villa, our stat's weren't that bad. Opta (seen on a Villa site) showed Villa's 'pass completion' being 54% .... which is attrocious.
Our very own Chris Eagles managed an 86% success. It's such a shame that he has fits & starts in his game as when he is good he is very, very good ... etc.
Also, we have 'no show' games, such as the Fulham one ... & far too many of them.
I may garden tomorrow, between 3pm & 5pm.

Not advocating mass-murder as an entirely positive experience, of course, but it had its moments.

Never get into an argument with an idiot. i'll bring you down to my level and beat you with experience
Re: Sunderland Away
I don't know Bobo but if he's in the Bobby Sands fan club that should be about right. Think its fair to say that on our game we are generally a better side than you this year ( post MON). Its all on the day though, we have murdered you before when you were favorites and took heavy beatings of you at home. We shall see what we shall see.plymouth wanderer wrote:madmarx wrote:Were not playing badly, but we have had bad games where nothing passed over 10 yards finds a man ( Blackburn was a case in point) or every body seems to have just vacated the space the killer ball is played into . Re: Sunderland Away
Brown, Cattermole, Larson, (and Richardson?) They would improve most mid table sides . Experienced center back , ball winning midfielder, set piece taker.Il Pirate wrote:madmarx wrote:I don't know Bobo but if he's in the Bobby Sands fan club that should be about right. That being said Turner and Killgallon have been great lately and Meyler who will possibly come into center mid was looking the bollox before he did his knee. His chance to get his spot back. Will miss Larsons delivery though.
I honestly wouldn't like to predict this one, anything could happen. I'm surprised at the general confidence in the Bolton camp though , The SOL under MON has been no push over for better than you ( no disrespect intended) .

Think we are only looking at about 35K at present . We have extra tickets on offer for £5 to season ticket holders to try to bump it up.scotty wrote:Official site has confirmed that tickets will be available to pay on the day.

Re: Sunderland Away
If like Villa, we can keep them out until half time I think we've a good chance. However, if we go 1 down early on I think they'll kick on and comfortably do us.
