Hodgson For England

Post by calcalstar » Mon Apr 30, 2012 11:53 am

Could this bit of news ingeniously come at the right time for us and help distract West Brom for Saturday or could it have the opposite effect????

And what do we think as England Fans??

Distract WBA. Good.
Hodgson for England. Good.

He's not the most stand out candidate but I have no qualms about him being the manager. I think he can do a good job. Its all about how he manages the billy big boots in the squad. If he can get Rooney, Lampard, Gerrard playing for him then we should be good. Hodgson works well with limited resources and thats exactly what England is at the moment. We may have a few standout players but if he can do a WBA or a Fulham then i'll be happy.

I dearly hope it helps Bolton.

As an England fan, I punched the air that it wasn't Harry.

Not sure it will have much of an effect on our game. I guess the players might want to give him a big send off; but at the same time, Spurs' dip in form was put down by many to the distraction of England. Perhaps that will happen at WBA too.

As for Roy for England in general; I'm very very happy. God manager, sound individual, has the experience. Perfect choice.

Happy it isn't Harry. There are only so many unsavoury characters that the England set-up can accommodate, and i think it's pretty oversubscribed in that department already.

I'm happy with Hodgson, if it does go ahead. In my opinion he has more qualities than Harry Redknapp to do the job.

He's got a broader knowledge of the game, he speaks different languages, he's very much an 'international' manager.

I think Hodgson gets the best out of the resources he's got, his sides are always very well organised. I'm not too clued up on his bottle but if he ends up picking players that actually care like Scott Parker and dropping players that don't, like Lampard, I'll have even more respect for him.

Perfect man for the job, right age for it too. I'm sure he will do a good job.

We still won't win anything till the players get their heads out of their arse's! Being picked to play for your country does not make you a superstar it's what you do with the chance that does.

You are asserting that Parker 'cares more about England than Lampard'.

Based on what? England players not being good enough does not euate not caring, nor does them being over paid pampered prima donnas. It doesn't mean they dont care.

Just that they're not good enough and not managed well enough to realise we need to play boring negative football in tournaments to progress rather than trying a passing game we are clearly not capable of!

Yeah rather have him than tother one.
My personal choice would to have offered MOURINHO whatever he wanted to take the job.
I cant help feeling that the players wont respect him, and wont give100% for him.

Whichever one got/gets it, it'll be a massive step down from a proven World Class manager who's won everything like Capello.

If Fabio can't do it, no fvcker can.

Not necessarily the skills required to manage England are probably different to those required of a club manager....
