Very true, Boyata is also an option.LiOC wrote:surely Boyata could play centre back and whoever is fit out of Steinsson Riley and Mears could play right back?

Re: Spuds at Home
We have to defend, but we also need to get play up the field and attack. If we camp around our own box and let them come at us, Modric, Bale and Lennon will unlock us like a cheap padlock. We do really need to hassle them all game and keep possession. Team selection is up in the air right now but I'm hoping Ream, Wheater, Ricketts and NRC will be in their normal slots. Steinsson (?) has done well against Bale before, but Boyata might add something as he doesn't panic on the ball. KD/N'gog as the one, with Tuncay running behind from deep might just work.

Re: Spuds at Home
Can someone make a list of all available players? We are falling apart at the seams here.
Eagles was supposed to be sick on Saturday but was at his best I thought. I'm beginning to question our physios/conditioning team here. This is the third year in a row this crap is happening.
Pratley, Muamba, Holden, Chung-yong Lee, Eagles, NRC, Steinsson,
-------------Bogdan------------------
Boyata----Wheater--Knight---Ricketts
--------------Ream-------------------
Mears-----Mavies--Vela---------Petrov
--------------SKD--------------------
Subs: Jussi, Tuncay, N'Gog, Alsonso, Riley etc.
Vela was decent enought but he's not purely defensive. I can see this as an excuse for 4-4-2!

Not sure Steinsson, Pratley, NRC or Eagles won't play yet is it?mullayo wrote:Can someone make a list of all available players? We are falling apart at the seams here.

Assuming the worst from the doubted players for me it would have to be along the lines of
----------Boggers------------
-------Ream--Wheater-------
Mears----------------Ricketts
-------Mavies--Vela----------
Ryo--------------------Petrov
----------------N'Gog--------
-----------SKD---------------
Just wouldnt want to mess our defence around with players out of position and other knightmares when we have players like adebayor bale VDV and modric coming at it

Re: Spuds at Home
I forgot about the headless chicken that is Miyaichi. I think I'd prefer Mears. Miyaichi defends by chasing the ball around in triangles like the opponents are cones he has to touch. Just like training at Arsenal.
COYWM! Win anyway. It'll be a moral victory now as well.
...Still give us the 3 points though...

I think Bale will be out to get us after he lost mega cool points when Steinsson put him in his pocket the same week he was the toast of Europe with whatever spread you want be it hummus or pesto etc.ohjimmyjimmy wrote:Which one fancies trying to stop Bale the most?

With Ream to cover for Tuncay or Mavies whenever they break forward or drop back to make it a back 5 when defending toyed with the idea of replacing Ryo with Alonso but might need Ryo's pace against Bale. Tuncay and Mavies to give us a bit more attacking guile.
