To be fair though, there's starting to be a long line of promising players we've had who've not had a chance.
Good to hear it's not just the fans then. Id hope a certain Mr Davies or Mr Gartside would also be having a word.

It is very strange and the only thing i can think is maybe there is some strange clause in his contract that we pay X amount once he plays or maybe scores this season? :conf:

It's that Coyle completely misjudged the situation and spent 3M on a player who wasn't ready cos Coyle hadn't got his head round how much shite we were in at the time!

So don't have him on the bench then.

Just realised what's gonna happen: he'll score the winner at Stoke to keep us up. Fabian DeSordell.

I am willing to put money on us being relegated before the season's over. Yes we've got games in hand.

Are we likely to capitalise on those games?

Are we bunnies!

So, with two games left we'll be down. Sordell will then be introduced into the team and score in both games.

We'll all be left scratching our heads.
I'm not asking you to 'think outside the box' I just wish you'd have a rummage around in it once in a while.

A promising young lad with an eye for goal?

Didn't that work out for us pretty well last season Owen?
What a hero, What a man...... Ooooh, what a bad foul...

This whole "not ready for the EPL" thing is very strange. Is Ryo ready for the EPL? Was Weisz?

I haven't been watching the championship but people say that the gulf in class between the bottom of the EPL and top of the champ is not much at all. For Marvin to score.. erm 10 was it, 4 assists.. in half a season for Watford means that he may be more EPL-ready than many of our aging senior players.
The players you fail to sign never lose you any money.

Probably has something to do with he feels Klasnic, Davies and Ngog are better than him currently, would imagine Klasnic will leave at the end of the season, and would assume he will play Ngog and Marvin in a 4-4-2 with Holden, Lee, Petrov and/or M Davies feeding them next season.

Buy all accounts he is quick, to be fair he gets stick on twitter, but hasn't commented on why he's a sub etc. For all coyles down falls I think his man management with youngest is good. IMO.

That's daft talk. We have to have at least three front men on the bench because...

Well, I'm sure there must be some absolutely brilliant reason that those of us who have never earned a living 'in the game' can neither work out for ourselves nor understand if the pros tried to explain it to us.

In case you can't click, Coyle on Sordell:
I said to Marvin it is a source of frustration. We know how well the lad is training. When he came in, the strikers had hit some form and then when we looked to play him, he was stop-start with the FA Cup. Coming out of that we’ve hit a bit of form again and taken 13 points from the last 21.

Of course, Marvin will be frustrated; I'm frustrated for him. But what we do know is he's set for a magnificent future – and that’s why we brought him to the club.

Marvin isn't the only one frustrated. They all want to play their part, but unfortunately as a manager you can only pick 11 to start games. But they know they have a role to play. Tyrone Mears is back fit and desperate to play as well. They are all champing at the bit to play, which is a good thing to have at this stage of the season.

If Mears is 'fit and desperate to play' but finds himself behind the previously binned off Boyata, I'm a bit confused

I don't get this. Strikers had hit some form? We signed him on transfer deadline day and the following results were 0-0 (Arsenal on deadline day), 0-2 v Norwich, 1-2 v Wigan, 2-0 v Millwall, 0-3 v Chelsea and 0-2 v Man City. I wouldn't consider that to be strikers hitting form. Thats 6 games with 3 goals, if you exclude the FA Cup match vs. Millwall thats 1 goal in 5 games.

I understand that Coyle might not want to risk him in the high profile games (sort of not wanting the baptism of fire intro) and then after that we did hit form (QPR 2-1, Spurs 1-3, Blackburn 2-1, Wolves 3-2) but even in those games the strikers were hardly prolific (Alonso, Wheater x2, Pratley, Petrov, Klasnic and K.Davies x2 were the scorers).

Its looking like its his all round game that needs improving if hes not willing to give him a shot at those stages in the season.

Early in the season whether he warranted it or not its a little late to be introducing him in order to test him out now. Hopefully he'll come good but at the minute survival first.

Whereas we see a striker getting say 1 in 4 is what's expected of a striker, Coyle seems to see this as being in form. Which for our strikers it probably is. So he's wrong, but also right. Right?

Its obvious we're saving him for the Olympics.

I'd imagine it coincided with trying to get Lee back into the squad. Which rightly or wrongly Coyle deemed more important to the cause.

I can't imagine he's seen his arse properly. any player would be upset.

We practically knew on the Friday / Saturday that LCY would be on the bench and most concluded it would be ahead of Sordell, considering Klasnic was available.

But the bench did look a bit unbalanced (again)

Wryly amusing that the bench went from three strikers to one in a game when we needed fresh legs up front...
