Staying up is pretty unlikely now.
The players you fail to sign never lose you any money.

Gutted. Absolutely gutted.
the sickly feeling has kicked in. We'll beat ourselves before Sunday even arrives. Coyle is so far out of his depth and next weeks performance will most probably show it

if you had watched the players body language before todays game you'd have known how it would go.
at 2-0 i still predicted we wouldn't win.
how did i know? Owen Coyle, his shellsuit wearing mates and the shower of players they have.
Re: wba at home
Well not long back and I'm almost speechless. What ineptitude, they were always going to get that equaliser the way we were set up, defending so bloody deep. It was inevitable, I almost couldn't bear to watch, knew we were going to throw it away. We've had some good times in this league but I'm not sure I could stomach another season like this one.
Past season's relegation battles produced some dire matches I know, but we always had players who could conjure up a bit of magic, who made me believe we could do it and that things would get better. I don't feel any optimism at the moment, and what's worse is that part of me isn't really bothered if we go down.
It's been a really shit season

Re: wba at home
Want to say lots but what needs saying? A penalty, an own-goal, a two goal lead and a draw that felt like a hammering. Most of our lot, when they get the ball (when) act like they've been given the black-spot from Billy Bones. West Brom deserved to win and looked and played like a football team. We didn't. N'gog is not the front man we need, nowhere, near and until we get a midfield and defence better than we have we'll carry on looking like what we are; second rate. We need half-an-hour to decide what to do with every ball and couldn't pass a laxative. Well fed up.

I've shouted "Come on you Whites" up and down four divisons and I always will. No point hiding from the truth though.a1 wrote:your glasses with the red lenses must be broken ^

Well that's been proven to be a load of absolute bollocks as its exactly what Megson used to do and we lost count of the amount of 2-0 leads we threw away.50sQuiff wrote:Absolutely sickening to watch one stubborn inept man single-handedly ruin what others worked so hard to build over 12-13 years. Losing Wheater was a blow, but when you're gifted a 2-0 lead with 20 minutes to go, for the love of good just shut up shop man. Bring your tiring striker off and pack midfield. But no, he brings a striker on.
Then at 2-1 he's still like a rabbit in the headlights, so deranged with fear that he brings on an attacker that's not played competitive football for over a year. Words fail me. Unspeakable ineptitude on an epic scale. BRING ON SOME DEFENSIVE PLAYERS AND HOLD ON. But no, let's get relegated instead. It's not that he's fixated with his footballing principles either - we play awful football. He just doesn't know any better.
At least I'll be there to watch our last game and, hopefully, the second miracle of the season.

Wasn't at the game today, guys, but I believe we conceded both goals after Knight had come on for Wheater. Coincidence or did he have his usual helping hand in them?

May the bridges I burn light your way

Re: wba at home
He also said something along the lines of "well, at least we can now go into the last game of the season knowing that we'll definately need a win rather than just holding on for a draw". This sort of explains today's result. Looks like he probably said that to the lads before the game, so they were all playing as though today didn't really matter, since Stoke was the real game to concentrate on winning.Little Green Man wrote:The manager said rather than wrote:For 75 minutes we had done enough to earn the three points.

Difficult to say. He looked very negative and hesitent to me. But let's be honest, he was thrown into a very difficult situation (that perhaps he shouldn't have been). So difficult to tell.Jez wrote:for anyone watching how did chungy look? did he look ready for the stoke game?
Having said that, he didn't look very sharp to me, but then you'd expect that of anyone making a return.

Re: wba at home
There was nothing to suggest that he'd offer more than Eagles at this stage. Amazed he came on at all tbh.
Knight was fine. I haven't watched the goals back so he might have hopelessly lost his man for both, but I thought he did ok. There's no noticeable difference between him and David Wheater. The defence as a whole is just a mess, needs tearing up and starting over next season. I'd love to see a list of the defenders we've brought in since that January when we bought Cahill and Steinsson. Imagine it'd make pretty depressing viewing.

Re: wba at home
He didn't do alot but overall Lee looked fine, got the first tackle out the way which is probably a big plus psychologically. Eagles/Petrov have looked absolute class the last few matches though so unless we go 4-5-1 with Eagles tucked behind the lone striker I think he'll be on the bench again come Stoke. Not that i'm saying either of the 2 are better than Lee as such but at this moment in time i'd say he's just a couple paces behind in fitness/general match sharpness.
If he only he played centre mid, still have a huge vacancy in there with NRC.

Re: wba at home
No mobility up front or steel in midfield and this is what happens. You've got to at least have one of those things.
Klasnic actually did very well with the ball for 5 minutes when he came on, but without, as ever, it's like playing with 10. Add in a knackered Davies who decides to start playing in defence and WBA's back four can bring the ball forward at will. Sure enough I think it was past K Davies that they went and got the goal.
Looking back on it all we were lucky to score the first goal considering the lax defending I suppose.
Devastating few minutes, I really thought it was going to happen when it was 2-0 and 0-0.

Not really Knights fault this time Bruce, as said elsewhere would have to look at the goals again to see.....but our failings were all in midfield really, as for the last twenty minutes we just let them stroll through our midfield time and time again.Bruce Rioja wrote:Wasn't at the game today, guys, but I believe we conceded both goals after Knight had come on for Wheater. Our back four are though all absolutely shite. Ream tries hard but you can't have a midget ad a centre back and he gets caught out over the top a fair bit. Boyata is shite. Ricketts tries but was exposed a lot again today. Wheater is shite. So is knight. Perhaps they'd be ok with someone like Allardyce organising the team to protect them. They had to deal with players running directly at them all day, with no fecker stopping em. They were bound to crack eventually.

Re: wba at home
Couldn't agree more. We need someone in midfield to break things up and get a challenge in. Our current midfield are far too happy to move upfield, but far too often get caught out of position. Such a pity about Muamba, on many levels.BWFC_Insane wrote:Not really Knights fault this time Bruce, as said elsewhere would have to look at the goals again to see.....but our failings were all in midfield really, as for the last twenty minutes we just let them stroll through our midfield time and time again.Bruce Rioja wrote:Wasn't at the game today, guys, but I believe we conceded both goals after Knight had come on for Wheater.
