I'd also kind of shut-out how utterly heartbreaking it is, too.

Edward Scissorhands. Which I had never seen.

Have you ever seen The Weatherman, Grunto? The most pointless film I've ever seen. I could understand Cage being in it - it's his level, but WTF Michael Caine got involved with it for I'll never know (and if you haven't seen it, I suggest you don'tAnnoyed Grunt wrote:In Kick Ass, yes......I'm glad his character was set on fire.Always hopeful wrote:Nicolas Cage.Bruce Rioja wrote:Oh for feck's sake. I've seen that before. Did he do the same one or has he managed to come up with something equally as genial such as 'who used the last of the milk?'Annoyed Grunt wrote:Oh, you missed a treat....this was up first:Bruce Rioja wrote:Annoyed Grunt wrote:Britain's Got Talent.

Agree with all the praise Considine is getting.
Recently watched 500 Days of Summer, Avengers and Frost/Nixon, which was the best one.
I dunno, he's generally the same in everything. Just his 'nutter shtick'. Face-Off is an enjoyable romp though and about the only decent Hollywood effort Woo's done.General Mannerheim wrote:not into this Cage bashing, hes been in some shockers granted, but Leaving Las Vegas, Bad Lieutenant, Matchstick Men and Adaption are some of my favourite films, i like Face Off too, and Kick Ass.
Fairly disturbing film. It's the matter-of-fact approach that had me unsettled.General Mannerheim wrote: did you list Snowtown?

Cage is wank! Two facial expressions. Puzzled and stern.
That Next is about as bad as films get!

fairly? that scene at the end when he closes the door on the camera... sends shivers down my spine as i write this! especially if having read up on the nature of their endeavours! brutal.Jakerbeef wrote:Agree with all the praise Considine is getting.

Cage played the part of the Dad in Kickass better than anybody could've.

Watched the first episode of 'Awake' on Anytime (new Sky atlantic programme).
Was actually quite decent, but not holding much hope for it. Got a feeling it's going to become frustrating.

Bought Drive on Blu Ray earlier, so will be watching that after the football.
Also, whilst going through the history of the stand out actors from Homeland, I came across an interesting looking series called Life that has Damian Lewis in it (Winters in Band of Brothers, and of course Brody in Homeland), and both seasons are on Netflix so might give that a go later.

Homeland finale, as brilliant as could be expected whilst knowing a new series is due to be made. Few scenes Ive watched on TV had the adrenaline going quite like watching Brody agonise over detonating that vest - superb stuff.
Only worry is, I hope we're not in for another 10 series' worth of near misses and Carrie's lost memories

Yeah, finding out a second season was in the works kind of spoilt the outcome of that scene, but fantastic stuff non the less. Don't think I can wait for Channel 4 to show it this time round so will be watching once it's released in America.P.O.S. wrote:Homeland finale, as brilliant as could be expected whilst knowing a new series is due to be made. It kind of reminded me of 24 in the sense that it builds tension up fantastically well. Homeland was great because it managed to keep a slow pace in the early episodes without ever being boring. The sense of you knew that something big was coming but you were happy enough to let it play out.
